Better Focus & Alignment
Align goals, methods, and resources
throughout the organization around a
clearly understood vision.
“Plans are nothing,
planning is everything.”
-
Board Input in Feb 2013 – Themes
• ASQ needs a Strategy Process that directs, and aligns the whole
organization (HQ, ASQ Global, Member Units)
– Board sets direction
– Board defines success
– Board informs strategy development
– Board monitors progress
• The Board needs to be actively involved in strategy development
– Particularly future oriented
– Based in fact and the voice of the customer
• The planning process needs to be calendarized to allow appropriate
inputs from key stakeholders (including member units) and to provide
for timely utilization of the plan by all planning entities.
• Communications, templates, training, and PAR needs to enable
member unit deployment and performance measures
