This fun, interactive day will take place Friday, May 8 at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus. All 4-H members are welcome to attend, either as a club or individually. In order to attend, everyone must be dues paying members and in good standing with their school. We ask that everyone please contact the 4-H Office to register to attend. EBR 4-H Achievement Day! SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Our day will be PACKED full of fun and exciting events! Check it out: 9:00– 9:30 — Registration 9:30– 10:00 — Welcome and Award Recognition 10:00-11:30 — Round Robin Rounds 1 & 2 11:30-12:30 — Lunch 12:30– 2:00 — Round Robin Rounds 3 & 4 2:00– 2:30 — Wrap up & Dismissal This fun, interactive event allows participants to walk through the various and different agriculture industries that are found in Louisiana. From agronomy to zoology, attendees will witness and experience it all. Hands-on stations allows youngsters to see first hand what agriculture really is. Most exhibits are geared towards youngster up to 5th grade level; however, this event is great for the whole family! Mark your calendars, you won’t want to miss it! 2015 Ag Magic The LSU AgCenter is proud to present the 2015 Ag Magic Event to be held at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus. Livestock Club News… Livestock Exhibitors, please be aware of a great show opportunity coming up on April 25, 2015. The Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranches will host an open show to be held at the Dewitt Livestock Facility, Please contact the office for more information. Also, as the weather heats up, be sure to keep your animals cool! Provide lots of shade and water to keep your animals healthy.

INTERSTED IN SHOWING LIVESTOCK? Want to show livestock but don’t know where to start? We’re here to help! EBR Parish is fortunate to have several different opportunities to enable 4-H members to have a livestock project. If you’re interested, please contact Mr. Shawn for additional information.

If your school club is collecting for Change for Change please be sure to notify your agent. All collections must be complete and ready for pick up no later than April 15, 2015. Remember, no amount is too small to help the needs of our community.

LOST Camp Attention 7

th graders – here’s a camp just for YOU! Join 4-

H’ers from all 64 parishes in a quest to learn about different career choice opportunities through hands-on scientific learning and discovery while partaking in traditional camping activities. LOST Camp will take place August 3-7, 2015 at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA. In order to register for LOST Camp please contact Ms. Katie at the Parish Office. Registration will close Thursday, May 28

4-H Day at the Capitol Join us on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol for the 14th Annual 4-H Day at the Capitol on June 3, 2015. This special event allows legislators from all parts of the state to hear the voices of 4-H’ers as we advocate for the Louisiana 4-H program. Along with this FREE event, you will receive a t-shirt and the chance to meet a representative or senator for East Baton Rouge Parish. All you have to do is register with Mr. Shawn at the EBR Parish Office by May 1!

Fun in the Sun! Summer 2015

Summer 2015 is sure to be one for the record books! Over these sunny months, 4-H has lots of different events going on for you to participate in. Below are two great opportunities available to you. Think ahead and plan NOW…

4-H Summer Camp • Spots are Limited! Call now!

Spots are filling quickly for 4-H Summer Camp, June 8– 12, 2015 at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA. Registration is open to any 4

th grade 4-H’er, but is available on a first come first serve basis and spots are limited for East Baton Rouge

Parish. The cost is $225.00 which includes a camp t-shirt, parish picture, transportation to and from camp, all meals, and $20.00 to be spent at the Camp Store. If your child receives free or reduced lunch, they are eligible to receive a $60.00 scholarship from the LSU AgCenter Chancellor reducing the cost to $165.00. LSU’s campus. Not only will you have the opportunity to compete in a contest or Clover College, but this is a great opportunity to live like a college student!
