“I absolutely love UCSC. I can’t image going anywhere else. There are so many wonderful things about this school. The location is spectacular, but the personality of the school is what really sets it apart from other schools. I’ve never met so many unique and interesting people who are all so passionate about the world.
“Coming from out of state, people often ask why I chose UCSC. I’ve been flying to California since I was about five, and on a few trips with my dad to Santa Cruz I fell in love with the area. I applied to five of the UCs and had a difficult time deciding between them. From what I found on the Internet, Santa Cruz seemed like the best fit for me. The personality of the school and the town itself really drew me in.”
Advice for new students: “Don’t be afraid! Take lots of chances, join clubs, and be brave! No one judges you as hard as you judge yourself, so try to relax.”
