Sub: First year PUC Admission Guidelines for the Academic Year 2012-2013.

The Admissions in Govt./Aided/Unaided PU Colleges of the State have to be done as per the

instructions given below for the Academic Year 2012-13.If these guide lines are not followed then the

concerned District Deputy Director, Department of Pre-Universtiy Education and College Principals’ will

be held responsible and the recognition of such colleges will be cancelled.

A. Before the announcement of SSLC results the following information must be

displayed On Flex Banner,College notice board and College website before 15-05-

2012 with out fail.

1. Permitted languages in Part-I and Combinations in Part-II and medium of instruction.

2. Combination,Section,Medium and Gender wise Seat Matrix of the permitted Intake seats as per

maximum permitted strength of 80(eighty) per section in Form 1 to 7.This Seat Matrix should

not include anticipated intake for this Academic Year2012-13 from the department.(Colleges

should not give representations to the Department or Government for increase of the section

strength above 80 under any circumstances, because the lecturers find it difficult to give

individual attention to students and also the students are deprived of interaction with

lecturers in the class room. If any college admits more than the permitted maximum strength

per section,then the College Principal will be held responsible and the recognition of such

B.After the announcement of SSLC results.

Commissionerate from the website:http://www.pue.kar.nic.in and then fill the

form with requisite details, along with necessary certificates submit the same in

the college where they would like to seek admission. Separate application should be

submitted for each combination. On receipt of the application the colleges should

collect application fee of Rs:20/-(Twenty)and issue acknowledgement and receipt

to the students.(Rupee one is deducted from application fee as the colleges have not

issued the application).The receipt number must be recorded on the application.

2. Information regarding the receipt of applications should be recorded in Form-14

and Form-15 and it should be displayed on the college notice board and College

website.

3. Admissions should be done strictly as per 2012-13 calendar of events by displaying

the Government Quota seat matrix in Form-4 to 7 on the college notice board and

College website.

4. Particulars of the students admitted from the First,Second and Third lists should be

displayed in Form-16 to 19 on the college notice board and College website.

II. Fee details:

Govt/Aided/Unaided PU Colleges should issue receipt for any amount collected and maintain

accounts for it.

1. Govt. Colleges should use the receipts supplied by the Department or purchased

from Govt. book depot only after taking them to stock register. Under unavoidable

circumstances when the receipts are not available, private receipts can be used by

obtaining prior permission from the District, Deputy Director, Department of Pre-

University Education.

2. Aided and Unaided PU Colleges can use their receipts only after obtaining

prior approval from the District DD PUE and taking them to Stock Register.

concerned departments and then it will be remitted to the HOA 0202-01-102-1-06.

4. NO Coaching Fees can be collected by Colleges for any coaching like CET, AIEEE,IIT,JEE and

other entrance exams. Any College indulging in illegal fee collection is liable for derecognition

3.Tuition Fee can be collected as per Government Order mentioned in note:2,using the formula

TF = 1.3 (T+N) ÷ (S+I) where T=Total annual salary expenditure (as defined in the above Go)of

all teaching staff , N= Total annual salary expenditure (as defined in the above Go)of all non

teaching staff, S= Students strength on roll in the previous Academic Year and I= Intake

permitted for the current year.

V Guide lines to prepare merit-cum-roster seat matrix for admission to I PUC

All the Colleges should prepare the COMMON MERIT list irrespective of category, if the students of any

category fall with in the cut-off percentage of General Merit category, then they should be included in the `

General Category. Then the reservation should be provided for all other categories as per roster. If the

applications received for any category is less than the intake capacity of that category, they can be

converted in to general category and merit list should be prepared as per roster . With out considering all

the applications received in any category ,their intake seats cannot be converted into general category.

Make a record of such coverted seats.

A.Proceedure to be followed in Govt.PU Colleges.

1. All the intake seats should be admitted as per Combination, Section, Gender and Medium

wise merit -cum -roster method.

2. In Co-education Colleges 50% of intake Govt. seats should be reserved vertically for Girls’ as

per sub rule 14(6) of 1995 rule in all categories.

B. Proceedure to be followed in (General management )Aided PU Colleges.

1. 1.Combination wise 20% of intake permitted seats are left to the management discretion to

fill as per Sub-rule 12(B) of rule1995.

2. The remaining Combination wise 80% of the Govt. seats should be filled as per merit -cum-

roster method.

3. In Co-education Colleges 50% of intake. Govt. seats should be reserved vertically for Girls’

as per sub rule 14(6) of 1995 rule in all categories.. 4. In a section if One/Two subjects are unaided, then the Govt. seats should be filled as per para B (1)(2)

5. If all the subjects in a section are unaided then Govt. seats should be filled as para D(1)(2).

C. Proceedure to be followed in (Religious and Linguistic Minority)Aided PU Colleges.

1. Combination wise 50% of intake permitted seats are left to the management to be filled

by the students of their Caste/Category.

2. The remaining Combination wise 50% of the Govt. seats should be filled as per merit -cum-

roster method.

3. In Co-education Colleges 50% of intake. Govt seats should be reserved vertically for

Girls’ as per sub rule 14(6) of 1995 rule in all categories.

E. Eligibility for Admission to I PU Course.

1. Students who have Passed Karnataka SSLC or any examination equivalent to SSLC or

10th standard are eligible for admission to I PU Course.

2 .Students who have Passed any examination equivalent to SSLC or 10th standard

have to pay Rs:500/-(Five hundred) towards ‘Eligibility Certificate’ to the Head of

account: 0202-01-102-1-06 .The principal of the College is authorised to issue

‘Provisional Eligibilty Certificate’.The original challan must be enclosed with the

proposal sent to the Commissionerate through district PUE DD. The Principals

should not send or direct Parents, and students in this matter for the

commmissionerate.

3 Students who have Passed CBSE 10th standard examination under C C E-

(Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) scheme are eligible for admission to I

PUC as per Commissionerate Order No: DPUE:Aca-04/CBSE/CCE-2011-

12.D:12.04.2012.

4. Admissions cannot be made based on the ‘Predict Marks Card’ produced by

the Students who have passed IGCSE examination equivalent to SSLC

examination If admissions are made the concerned Principal will be held

responsible and such admissions will be cancelled

5. students who have passed examination equivalent to SSLC in other Countries

can be admitted only on the production of “Provisional Eligibility Certificate”

issued by the Commissionerate. If admissions are made with out Provisional

Eligibility Certificate the concerned Principal will be held responsible and

such admissions will be cancelled.

F. Eligibility for Admission to II PU Course.

The following students are eligible for admission to II PU Course.

1. Students who have studied in the Academic Year 2011-12 and Passed I PUC in the

same college.

2. Students who have studied before Academic Year2011-12 and Passed I PUC in the

same college.

3. Students who have studied II PUC in the Academic Year 2011-12 and not appeared

for II PUC examination due to Shortage of Attendance or discontinued .

4. Students who have studied in any PU College of the state during 2011-12 or prior to

that and passed I PUC.

5. Sudents who have joined in a College for II PUC and permitted to change the College

in the middle of the Academic Year.

6. Students of para (4) above can be admitted on production of ‘Eligibility Certificate’

issued by the Commissionerate. Admissions made with out ‘Eligibility certificate’

stand cancelledautomatically.

7. AS Per OrderNo: ¥À.¥ÀÆ.².E/±ÉʱÁ/ ¥Àæ,¦AiÀÄĹZà/2009, ¢: 24.06.2009,Students of

CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE who have passed XI standard examination equivalent to I PUC are

not ‘Eligible to seek admission to II PUC. However students who have studied in

other states and passed examination compatable and equivalent to I PUC can be

admitted to II PUC on Production of ‘Provisional Eligibility Certificate’ issued by the

Commissionerate. The information of the students of para 4,5 & 7 who have joined II

PUC must be sent in Proform-2 to the Commissionerate through district PUE DD’s.

Failing to send the proform-2 such students will not be permitted to write II PUC

examination and the Principal will be held responsible.

G.Change of Language/Subject:

( LAST DATE: For I PUC : 30-06-2012 and For IIPUC: 22-06-2012)

1.Students who have joined I PUC and want to change Languages/ Combination subjects for

various reasons can be permitted by the Principal before June 30, making sure that the student

gets 75% of attendance and before sending the information in Proforma-1/ OMR Proforma to

the Commissionerate with in the last date .

2.Students who have passed I PUC and due to transfer or other valid reasons can change one

language in part-1 or One subject in part-2 or one subject each in part-1 & part-2 ,in II PUC but

such Students must pass I PUC examination of the subject(s), then only such students results

will be declared. Change to Practical oriented subjects is not permitted.

3.If the student wants to change more than 2(Two) subjects, then he has to re-admit to

I PUC. However student can avail exemption in the languages in which he /she has

passed already in I PUC.

H.Change of College/Combination/Readmission:

( LAST DATE: For I PUC : 30-06-2012 and For IIPUC: 22-06-2012)

1.Change of College.

Students who want to change the college have to remit Rs:1000/-( one thousand) to

the Head of Account :0202-01-102-1-06 in Treasury or any State Bank of Mysore Treasury

Branch and then submit it to the college where s(he) wants to study along with the prescribed

filled application, with other relevant certificates.The Principal will admit them and send the

proposals of such students to the Commissionerate’s ,Assistant Director(Exam),18th

cross,Sampige Road,Malleshwaram,Bangalore-12 through district PUE DD’s with in the last

date. The Principal should not direct Parentsor students to the commissionerate regarding this

matter.

Special Note:

a) I PUC marks card attested by district PUE DD of the College in which the student

Studied earliar must be submitted with the application.

b) The Principal should verify the student number,College code,Student

Address,Languages , subjects studied and medium carefully.

2.Change of Combination.

( LAST DATE: For I PUC : 30-06-2012 & For IIPUC: 22-06-2012)

a) As per GO.NO:ED 56 TPU Dated:23-03-2004 students are not permitted to

change Science Combinations in II PUC and they have to study the same subjects

which they have studied in I PUC.

b) Students who have passed I PUC and due to transfer or other valid reasons can change

one language in part-1 or One subject in part-2 or one subject each in part-1 & part-2

,in II PUC but such Students must pass I PUC examination of the subject(s),then only

such students results will be declared.

c) Students who have failed in I PUC cannot be re-admitted to study the same

Combination. Example: Students who fail with combination PCMB cannot be allowed to

change to Combinations PCMCs/PCME. Similarly student who fail with HEBA cann’t be

allowed to take CsEBA etc. However he can re-admit to any other stream ie. She/he can

switch over from Arts to Commerce or Science or vice-versa.

d) Students who want to change the Combination have to remit Rs:500/-( Five hundred) tothe

Head of Account :0202-01-102-1-06 in Treasury or any State Bank of Mysore Treasury

Branch and then submit it to the college where s(he) wants to study along with the

prescribed filled application with other relevant certificates.The Principal will admit them

and send the proposals to the Commissionerate’s ,Assistant Director(Exam),18th

cross,Sampige Road,Malleshwaram,Bangalore-12 through district PUE DD’s with in the

last date. The Principals should not direct Parents or students to the commissionerate

regarding this matter.

3.Self Study.

a. Due transfer or any other valid reasons ,if the Student wants to change the college

and if one language or one subject or both are not permitted to teach in that

college, then s(he) can study them on their own by paying self study fee of

Rs:500/-(Five hundred) per subject .The attendance for these subjects is exempted.

4.Re-Admission:

( LAST DATE: For I PUC : 30-06-2012 & For IIPUC: 22-06-2012)

a) I and II PUC failed students of any stream (Arts/Commerce/Science) are not eligible

for re-admission to the same combination. However they can change the stream

from ‘Arts to Commerce or Science and vice-versa.

b) Both I and II PUC discontinued or shortage of attendance students are eligible for

re-admission.
