Perhaps there is no greater time to observe the academic quality of Gardner-Webb University than right now. All of the necessary factors for academic excellence – faculty, students, resources, curriculum – are working in conjunction with one another to gain widespread acclaim from alumni, friends, trustees, the media and the community. Over 130 full-time faculty members comprise a group of educators at GWU being heralded as the "premiere class of instructors ever assembled at the University." Over 80 percent of the faculty hold a Ph.D. or equivalent, and many boast of well-documented activities in the business and professional worlds. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 15 to 1, Gardner-Webb is able to provide personal instruction to its students, who now number over 4,000, making Gardner-Webb the fifth-largest private institution in North Carolina. New technological features in our library enhance the learning experience for a higher quality student.

Page 5: 2013 Gardner-Webb Baseball Media Guide

Dr. A. Frank Bonner, in his eighth year as the president of Gardner-Webb University, took office on May 2, 2005, and was inaugurated on April 6, 2006.

Bonner is no stranger to Gardner-Webb, having been a part of the University family for more than 25 years. Bonner came to Gardner-Webb as Vice President for Academic Affairs in 1987. His role later evolved into Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, and then Provost and Senior Vice President. He was named President in May 2005 and took office on July 1.

Bonner has been heavily involved in accreditation work through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), serving on 31 accredi-tation committees, including 22 as committee chair. He has also chaired four NCAA Division I Recertification visiting committees.

Bonner currently serves on the Board of the SACS Commission on Colleges; he is Vice President of the Big South Conference, Vice Chair/Chair Elect of the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities, and a member of the Executive Committee of the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities. While at Gardner-Webb, Bonner has remained active in civic affairs, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America Piedmont Council. He is a past chair of the Cleveland County Chamber, a Rotary past President, a previous Paul Harris Fellow, and he has been a board member for numerous organizations.

He is a member of First Baptist Church, Shelby, where he teaches Sunday School and serves as a Deacon. After twenty-two years in the United States Army Reserve, Bonner retired at the rank of Colonel.

A native of Greenville, S.C., Bonner graduated from Furman University in 1969. Coincidentally, his major professor was Dr. Phil L. Elliott, son of the legendary president of Gardner-Webb from 1943 until 1961, Phillip Lovin Elliott.

After Furman, Bonner earned the M.A. from the University of Georgia in 1971, and the Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977. His specialty is Victorian literature, primarily the poetry of Alfred Tennyson, and eighteenth century British literature, with a special interest in Jonathan Swift.

In 1974, Bonner began his academic career as a faculty member at Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. He was particularly active in civic life in Anderson, most notably as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Anderson County School District Five. Bonner was assigned various administrative responsibilities at Anderson and, immediately prior to coming to Gardner-Webb, was Associate Dean for Special Programs. Bonner is married to Florence Dell (Flossie) Black of Chester, South Carolina, also a Furman gradu-ate. She is a retired high school mathematics teacher.

They have two daughters, Alison Bonner Dalton of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Florence Bonner Crawford of Fort Myers, Florida. The Bonners have several grandchildren.

Gardner-Webb alumnus Chuck Burch is in his 16th year as Vice President for Athletics and his 31st year in athletics administration.

The Charlotte, N.C., native spearheaded the Bulldogs move into Division I athletics, which resulted in Gardner-Webb’s addition to the Big South Conference as an associate member for football in 2001, and GWU’s move to the Big South as a full member – which became official on July 1, 2008.

Burch oversees all athletic operations at Gardner-Webb, including management and supervision of athletic programs, facilities and budgets. During his career at GWU, Burch has overseen across-the-board improvements in athletics facilities and the addition of five new sports since arriving in 1997. A sixth sport, men’s swimming, was added in 2007-08. Burch is also responsible for continued improvements in the quality and quantity of Gardner-Webb’s athletics staff – with a number of full-time positions created to assist and enhance the entire department.

GWU athletics has seen a steady increase in academic performance since Burch’s arrival, and the department has posted a combined GPA above 3.0 in each of the last five academic years.

This past year, Gardner-Webb posted its highest finish in the annual Big South Conference Sasser Cup, taking No. 4 in the final standings of the all-sports race. The women’s basketball team captured its first Big South Tournament title, advanc-ing to the first round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. Two other teams – women’s soccer and baseball – advanced to the league tournament title game in their respective seasons as well.

Gardner-Webb’s final year in the Atlantic Sun Conference was fruitful, with several notable wins and the usual high number of strong academic performances by the Bulldogs’ student-athletes.

GWU enjoyed its most successful athletics year as a Division I member in 2006-07. Gardner-Webb won its first Atlantic Sun Conference Academic Championship, unseating Belmont University for the title. The Bulldogs also finished third in the men’s and women’s combined sports standings – a very impressive effort in the race for the inaugural Bill Bibb Trophy.

Gardner-Webb’s men’s soccer team captured the imagination of fans across Cleveland County during its run to the 2006 A-Sun Championship and NCAA Tournament second round. National qualifiers in Track & Field, swimming and wrestling highlighted competitive success for the Bulldogs in 2006-2007.

Burch, a graduate of Independence (N.C.) High in Charlotte, and former mem-ber of Gardner-Webb’s football and tennis teams, spent 1991-1997 as Director of Athletics at Liberty (Va.) University, and was instrumental in a successful and well run department in Lynchburg as well. He also served Liberty as Associate Director of Athletics (1988-1990), Assistant Director of Athletics (1984-1988), Sports Information Director (1986-1988) and Assistant Director of Sports Information (1982-1984).

After graduating from Gardner-Webb in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Burch, 54, earned his master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982. His wife, Franki, holds a Ph.D. in Health Education from the University of Virginia, and is a member of the faculty at Gardner-Webb. The couple has three chil-dren, Travis, a 2009 graduate of Furman University; Danielle, a recent graduate of Brevard (N.C.) College and Amy, a freshman soccer player at High Point University.

Rusty Stroupe (644-483-1, 288-278-1 at GWU) is in his 11th season with the Runnin' Bulldogs, and has made a tremendous impact on the baseball program, the overall campus and the community since joining the Gardner-Webb family prior to the 2003 season. The Cherryville, N.C., native has taken the 'Dogs new heights at the NCAA Division I level and crossed the 600-win plateau in 2011 – as well as reaching his 250th win with the Runnin' Bulldogs. Stroupe, who has more than 20 years of college head coaching experience under his belt, has led Gardner-Webb to a pair of conference tournament cham-pionship game appearances, with the 'Dogs falling just short in the Big South title game in 2011 and in the famed 15-inning Atlantic Sun Conference title game in 2008. Stroupe has led GWU to at least 25 wins in nine of his 10 seasons at the helm, and has posted six finishes in the top-5 in conference play. In 2011, the 'Dogs were one of the nation's most potent offensive teams, ranking 37th nationally with a .302 team average and among the Big South's best hitting squads all season long. Gardner-Webb finished the season ranked in the top-50 in scoring (26th), runs scored (29th), hits (33rd), doubles (44th) and doubles per game (49th). Defensively, Gardner-Webb ranked No. 23 nationally in double plays turned. When the dust settled at the end of the 2011 season, Gardner-Webb had posted a strong 34-23-1 record that included a weekend sweep of NCAA Tournament participant and preseason top-25 member St. John's in March. The Runnin' Bulldogs took well to their sparkling new home stadium, forging a 17-10 mark in John Henry Moss Stadium / Bill Masters Field. First baseman Dusty Quattlebaum was named Big South Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and became the first GWU baseball player to be named first-team Capital One Academic All-America. In 2010, Stroupe's very young squad was competitive throughout a tough schedule, forging 25 wins that included a win over ACC member Wake Forest on the road. His 2009 team established numerous team records offensively, breaking the school's season batting record with a .327 average - topping the .324 aver-age that had stood as the top mark since 1971. The 2009 squad also set single-season records as a team for on-base percentage (.398) and most home runs (65), while third baseman Justin Loyd became the latest member of the schools .400 club, earning first-team All-Big South honors. Gardner-Webb has shown under Stroupe that it can compete with the best, and with style. The Runnin' Bulldogs ran to a school-record 122 stolen bases in 2008, breaking the record of 119 set just one year earlier in 2007. GWU also made a late run that gave the 'Dogs the No. 5 seed at the 2007 A-Sun Tournament, and

posted a pair of non-conference wins at SEC member Georgia - marking the fourth time in six games against Georgia that GWU has prevailed under Stroupe's watchful eye. In 2006, Stroupe led a very young team to 24 wins, which included early victories over Missouri Valley Conference champ Evansville and ACC member Maryland. Stroupe also saw fifth-year senior Blake Lalli sign with the Chicago Cubs prior the June, 2006, draft as a free agent - marking the fifth Diamond 'Dog under Stroupe's watch to ink a deal with a major league organization. In 2005, Gardner-Webb finished in a tie for fifth in the Atlantic Sun Conference - the third year in a row that GWU had finished at least fifth in the powerful league. GWU also picked up its first A-Sun Tournament win, upsetting No. 1 seed Troy in the opening round. Ace Zach Ward became the highest drafted player in GWU baseball history - going in the third round of June's MLB Amateur Draft, capping a record-setting career in Boiling Springs. Ward signed with the Reds, marking the fourth player to sign a contract with a Major League club since 2003 - Stroupe's first season with the program. Catcher Jay McConnell was named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America. In 2004, Stroupe's Bulldogs posted a 19-11 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference, finishing only one game out of a tie for second place in one of the country's most competitive leagues. A No. 4 seed in the A-Sun Tournament followed, capping off a 32-25 overall campaign - hich included two wins over No. 14 Florida Atlantic in mid-March. Seniors Jeff Long (Atlanta Braves, 12th Round) and Joey Siak (St. Louis Cardinals, FA) continued their careers on the professional level after the 2004 season was completed. Stroupe led his first set of Bulldogs to a 33-23 record in 2003, including an 18-15 mark in the A-Sun. In the process, the Bulldogs qualified for the A-Sun Tournament, which takes the top six of 12 total teams from the regular season standings. Ward was also named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team, becoming the first Gardner-Webb player so honored. During the Bulldogs' 33-win trek through the 2003 season, Stroupe led the squad to a pair of wins over SEC foe Georgia, as well as wins over preseason top-25 squads UCF (2), Florida Atlantic (1) and Stetson (1). GWU rose to as high as No. 53 in the Division I RPI - efore finishing the season with a rating index of 79 (out of 287 Division I teams). Stroupe also has head college coaching experience at Lander (1998-2002), Brevard College (1993-1997) and North Greenville College (1991-1992). He and his wife, Karen, have three sons - Will (20), Cal (17) and J.T. (13). In addition to his coaching career, Stroupe has written a book and is a regular contributor as a non-sports columnist with the Shelby Star.

Assistant coach Kent Cox is in his seventh season with the Gardner-Webb program, and will continue to mentor the program's hitters and infielders in 2013 – two areas the Runnin' Bulldogs have shown con-tinued improvement in since Cox's arrival on campus. Cox was instrumental in Gardner-Webb finishing strong again in 2012, with the team rapping out 108 dou-bles en route to a 32-28 record. Shortstop Ryan Hodge earned sec-ond-team All-Big South Conference honors after leading the team with

a .315 average and 16 steals – and became the first GWU position player to earn Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors since catcher Jay McConnell in 2005. Three GWU sluggers – Scott Coleman, Brad Collins and John Harris – each established new career-highs in home runs, with Harris earning second-team All-Big South honors as well. Hodge teamed with classmate Scott Johnson to form one of the Big South's most effective double play combinations, with Johnson fielding a strong .957 on the season and finishing second on the squad with 103 assists. In 2011, Gardner-Webb was one of the nation's most potent offensive squads, ranking in the top-50 in scoring (26th), runs per game (29th), hits (33rd), batting average (37th), doubles (44th) and doubles per game (46th). Slugger Dusty Quattlebaum finished 13th nationally in doubles per game, nearly breaking the school's single-season record in that category en route to Academic All-America honors. Gardner-Webb batted .302 with 399 runs scored and 118 doubles in 2011, and advanced to the 2011 Big South Conference Tournament Championship Game. In 2010, GWU batted a solid .312 and averaged 7.0 runs per game with a very young group of hitters -belting 46 home runs on the year. In 2009, Gardner-Webb set new school records for season batting average (.327) and home runs (65), just one season after posting the most total bases (999) in GWU history. Three of Cox's hitters, Daniel Cooke, Justin Loyd and Brock Miller, each earned All-Big South Conference honors in 2009, with Loyd becoming the first Diamond 'Dog to bat .400 since the program's move to NCAA Division I. Prior to joining the GWU family, Cox spent the four seasons as an assis-tant coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Campbell University, in Buies Creek, N.C. During that span, the Camels experienced a burst in their offensive output, with several players ranking among the best in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Under Cox's guidance in 2006, first baseman Mike Priest led the A-Sun in batting with a .402 average, runs scored (62), total bases (151) and slugging percentage (.674) - and was named Academic All-America for the second season in a row. Cox played for the Camels from 1993-1996, earning Academic All-America honors himself in 1995. A three-team All-Conference choice on the diamond and a three-time Academic All-District selection, Cox finished as Campbell's all-time leader in hits (269) and seventh with a .348 career bat-ting average. He ranks in the top-10 in Campbell history in runs (147), steals (32), doubles (39) and total bases (341). Cox is also the toughest player in Campbell history to strike out, fanning just once every 16.8 times at the plate. Cox is also a veteran broadcaster, having served Campbell as a television analyst for men's basketball games and as the play-by-play voice for Camels' athletics for two seasons. A native of Wilmington, N.C., Cox played prep baseball at Hoggard (N.C.) High and attended St. Andrews College before transferring and playing his four seasons on the diamond at Campbell. In addition to his most recent coaching experience at Campbell, Cox served as a volunteer coach with the Camels in 2001, after spending two years on the staff at NAIA Montreat (N.C.) College.

Ray Greene is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Gardner-Webb University baseball program, and will be in charge of the Diamond Dogs' pitching staff again in 2013. Greene tutored a strong pitching staff during his first season, as seven different GWU arms finished the sea-son with an ERA below 4.00 and two freshmen – Beau Hilton and Mitch Warner – turned in 7-win seasons. Warner went on to earn Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America hon-ors, the first Gardner-Webb hurler to

do so since Zach Ward in 2003. Relief ace Jeff Howell also established a new school single-season mark for appearances (33), and needs just one more appearance to tie the school's career record. Greene joined the GWU program after spending five seasons as pitch-ing coach and recruiting coordinator at Pfeiffer (N.C.) University. The Laurinburg, N.C., native has head coaching experience in the Coastal Plains League (Thomasville Hi Toms), the SCBL (Morganton Aggies). He started his coaching career at St. Andrew's Presbyterian (N.C.) College, serving as an assistant coach from 2002-2005. Greene also served a stint at Alfred State (N.Y.) University, before returning south to begin his work at Pfeiffer. As a player, Greene pitched for three seasons at Campbell (N.C.) University, before wrapping up his career at St. Andrew's. He graduated from UNC-Pembroke in 2001.

Kyle Sprague is in his first sea-son with the Gardner-Webb University baseball program as a volunteer assis-tant coach. Sprague will work primarily with Gardner-Webb's catchers and will assist with hitters and the program's day-to-day operations. The Mansfield, Ohio, native played the past three seasons at Malone (Ohio) University, where he saw action in 24 games as a senior. He helped the squad post a 32-24 record, including an impressive 13-7 mark

away from home. Over his three seasons with the Pioneers, Sprague was a part of teams that won 104 games. Sprague saw action in 40 games in 2010, batting .250 with a pair of home runs and 15 RBI. His college career started at Tiffin University. Sprague has extensive experience as a camp instructor, working at the Marc Wilkins Baseball Academy from 2007-2012 and for Cal Ripkin Baseball in 2009. He also has served as a camp instructor at Clemson, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, LSU and Mississippi State, among others.

An integral part of the entire Gardner-Webb University athletics program, the Athletic Training Program emphasizes the importance of wellness in the teams’ pursuit of success. Under the supervision of Kevin Jones, ATC, and the rest of the Athletic Training faculty and staff, athletic training students complete part of their clinical education with the University’s 21 varsity sports. Jones and his staff work toward the prevention, treatment and reha-bilitation of athletic injuries. The athletic training students at GWU are fortu-nate to have a faculty and staff of nine certified athletic trainers and a coop-erative intercollegiate athletics staff to enhance their learning experience. The clinical education that is conducted while serving the student-athletes at Gardner-Webb University allows for comprehensive medical care in a learning environment. The athletic training educational program recently completed its full accreditation by CAATE, marking an exciting moment in the program’s history. Athletic training students are able to pursue a B.S. in Athletic Training through the Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies. Upon graduation, athletic training students must complete a three-part examination conducted by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association’s Board of Certification to become Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC). One of the most respected academic majors on campus, the Gardner-Webb Athletic Training educational program boasts a growing enrollment and provides students with first-class instruction and practical experience in their chosen field of study. Currently, Gardner-Webb graduates are working with NFL teams, colleges and universities, high schools and physical therapy clinics. After their academic careers at Gardner-Webb, many students also choose to seek graduate assis-tant positions at colleges and universities around the nation.

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb's 2013 baseball roster is brimming with experience, particularly on the mound, which has the Runnin' Bulldogs squarely positioned for a run at the top of the Big South Conference this season. A bulk of the talent from last year's squad returns after leading Gardner-Webb to a 32-28 finish and another deep run into the Big South Conference Tournament – the second season in a row GWU has finished on a roll.

Gardner-Webb returns all 60 starts from the 2012 season, a level of experience not seen with the pitching staff in Boiling Springs since the 2004 campaign that featured aces Jeff Long, Zach Ward, Joey Siak and Abe Gonzalez. Six returning arms for 2013 have experience in the weekend rotation and five logged at least 45 innings during Gardner-Webb's 32-28 cam-paign in 2012. Junior righty Andrew Barnett (4-4, 4.15 ERA) garnered high praise following fall practice and was recently listed as the Big South Conference No. 10 draft prospect in Baseball America's College Preview issue. The High Point, N.C., native relies on a low-90s fastball and has steadily improved his control over the past two seasons. He tied for the team lead with 15 starts last season, and was the staff workhorse with 86.2 innings pitched. Senior right-handers Brock Wilson (4-3, 3.35 ERA) and Conner

Scarborough (2-4, 5.34 ERA) combined to start 18 games last season, and have been regulars in the rotations since their freshman seasons. Scarborough is likely slated for setup duty after an outstanding pre-season in that role, with Wilson expected to continue as a frontline starter. A trio of sophomores provides a healthy dose of excitement on the bump for Gardner-Webb. Southpaw Beau Hilton (7-3, 3.14 ERA) made 15 starts and was one of the Big South's top arms by season's end. The Jacksonville, Fla., native hurled a complete-game shutout in the Big South Tournament win over Radford, and was a part of two shutouts in 2012. Hilton finished second on the team with 77.1 innings pitched. Matt Fraudin (1-5, 3.41 ERA) had tough luck in terms of pitching decisions as a true freshman, but was tough and durable as the team's Friday starter late in the season. The Upper St. Clair, Pa., right-hander pitched 71.1 innings last season, and got better as the year wore on. Redshirt sophomore Erik Heiligenstadt returns to the fold after miss-ing 2012 with an offseason injury, and is back at full strength. The Forest, Va., lefty was a key part of the rotation as a freshman in 2011, and will be squarely in the mix again for rotation duty this season. Gardner-Webb's bullpen also has considerable experience and talent, with closer Jeff Howell (3-4, 3.21 ERA) closing in on the school's career appearance record and middle reliever Mitch Warner (7-2, 2.48 ERA) one of the best at his job in the Big South Conference. Howell served as the setup man in 2012, and set a school record with 33 relief appearances (42.0 innings pitched). He has 82 appearances for

Sophomore lefty Mitch Warner (above) and sophomore shortstop Ryan Hodge (below right) each earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors following outstanding 2012 seasons. Hodge was also an All-Big South Conference choice.

his career, which leaves him one shy of Brett Stackhouse heading into his final campaign. Warner, who earned Freshman All-America honors in 2012, walked just 13 batters in 58.0 innings of work out of the pen last season (27 appearances) and held teams to a .227 batting average in his first sea-son. The Chambersburg, Pa., southpaw picked up the first win of his career at No. 4 North Carolina. The depth of the team's starting pitching should also bolster the bullpen – freeing up Scarborough and others to join the pen when need-ed. Youth will also be a factor in the bullpen's innings, with sophomore Stephen Gilmore (4.1 innings in 2012) joined by talented newcomers Hunter Smith (RHP) and Brad Haymes (RHP) as top relief options.

POSITION PLAYERS

Gardner-Webb returns seven position starters for 2013, and the strength of the GWU squad defensively will be up the middle. Preseason All-Big South Conference catcher John Harris (.302, 4 HR, 35 RBI) returns for his fifth season, and was rated as the league's top defensive backstop by its head coaches according to College Baseball Insider. Harris enjoyed a breakout year at the plate in 2012, and has made tremendous strides offensively over the past two seasons. The double play combination of Ryan Hodge (.315, 46 runs, 16 SB) and Scott Johnson (.263, 18 RBI, 6 steals) remains one of the best in the Big South Conference – and one of the top young duos in the country defensively. Hodge earned All-Big South Conference honors and Freshman All-America honors in 2012, leading the team in hitting and flashing considerable leather in the field. Johnson, who was one of the team's most highly regarded recruits in a strong freshman class, lived up to his billing as well. The Wilmington, N.C., standout was an all-around steady performer, and proved to be a standout at second base defensively – committing only eight errors in 187 chances (.957 %). Only graduated first baseman Dusty Quattlebaum had a higher fielding percentage among infielders last season. Newcomer JJ Nazzaro (.415, 36 runs, 15 SB at Tacoma CC) provides the final cog in Gardner-Webb's strong middle, nailing down the center-field job with outstanding production during the fall and preseason. The speedy Nazzaro has drawn rave reviews from coaches and teammates at the plate and in the field. With Nazzaro's quick emergence, veteran center fielder Benji Jackson (.264, 25 runs, 25 RBI) slides to right field – further improving the defensive net for the Runnin' Bulldogs. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Jackson started 44 games in centerfield last season and provides plenty of range – in addition to his power potential at the plate. Last season's most improved player, left fielder Scott Coleman (.312, 4 HR, 30 RBI) returns for his junior season with sights set on improving upon last season's production at the plate. A corner infielder by trade, Coleman worked diligently to adjust to the outfield, and supplemented a strong offensive season with solid play in the field. Gardner-Webb did lose its top home run and RBI man in Quattlebaum to graduation, and the void at first base will likely be filled by a combi-nation of senior Brad Collins (.279, 5 HR, 29 RBI) and newcomer Sam Fulginiti. Collins has starting experience at both first and third base, and had his best season in terms of power numbers as a junior. Fulginiti, the younger brother of former former GWU slugger Kurt Fulginiti, transferred to Gardner-Webb after playing football at Elon. The younger Fulginiti was

a standout on the diamond at state powerhouse Charlotte Christian (N.C.), and has prodigious power. Harris will also see time at first base when not behind the plate, with Coleman also capable of manning the bag if needed. Defensive whiz Henry Rundio (.223, 28 runs, 8 SB) and Collins provide plenty of depth at the hot corner, with Rundio logging valuable innings last season (51 games played, 27 starts). Sophomore slugger Brantley Smith (.241, 3 RBI) emerged in the fall as a top option behind the plate, and has outstanding power potential as a hitter. Returning lettermen Danny Yelverton, Alex Newman and Adam Tiller will push for playing time in the outfield, with Tiller capable of playing several positions. Newman, one of the team's fastest players, has made a considerable push for playing time with a fine preseason.

SCHEDULE

Gardner-Webb will embark on perhaps its toughest schedule since moving to NCAA Division I, with 13 games on tap against teams that advanced to NCAA Regionals in 2012. That begins with Dayton on February 15. The defending A-10 cham-pions will be in Boiling Springs for a four-game set to open the 2013 season. Gardner-Webb will also play a heavy dose of top-25 teams, including preseason No. 1 North Carolina, perennial College World Series partici-pant South Carolina (April 23, Shelby, NC), Clemson and San Diego. The Runnin' Bulldogs will play eight of their first 10 games at home, with the four-game set against Dayton followed by Morehead State the next weekend.
