Krendl bringing themagic to Canal Days
Delphos native Paul Krendl with Krendl & Company will bring the magic toCanal Days this year with his Dare to Dream: 2013 Grab the Illusion Tour.
The two 90-minute shows set for Saturday in the Jefferson Middle Schoolauditorium will include more than four nationally-televised illusions, professionalstate-of-the-art sound and intelligent lighting to transport the audience to a LasVegas-style show-room production.
One of the featured pieces Krendl is most well-known for is making it magicallysnow not only over the entire stage, but the audience as well.
Krendls highly-interactive shows blend comedy, theater and magic together. Hehas won several awards, most recent attraction of the year award for the Virginia
Beach Resort Area and has performed overseas along with entertaining for variouscruise ships. When asked about his thoughts on returning home to where it all started he said,
What a true dream come true! This is the first time since I have left my hometownto bring our touring production show home. I dont think the timing could be anybetter! I have been very fortunate and blessed with an amazing career that has takenme places I could of never imagedand to think it all started after performing myvery first magic show in my 6th grade classroom all those years ago. In additionto bringing our grand illusion show to the region, it also happens to time out withmy 15 year class reunion. Being able to see friends and family and catch up withpeople is just icing on the cake!
To purchase tickets for the Grand Illusion Show at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.,
call the chamber office at 419-695-1771 or email a request to [email protected].
Tickets for the shows are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Those fortunate enough to have tickets for the sold-out annual Toast to the City
will get a preview of Krendl. He will entertain the crowd with two, 10-15-minute mini shows. The Toast is set to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday with registration beginning at 5 p.m.The Toast will again offer a variety of foods from local restaurants, specialty
beers and wines. 2013 Canal Days Chairman Michael Mesker will present theToast ceremony along with Mayor Mike Gallmeier. A short program will be fol-lowed by Krendl and Companys special magic.
This is the third year in a row the Toast has sold out and last year, the Social Tentwas expanded to accommodate more people.
