This is our 27th year of producing quality equestrian events in Southern Ontario and we are ecstatic that the Caledon Equestrian Park re-development is well under way. Phase 1 will be complete in time for our 2013 season. Phase 2, including the indoor complex, Grand Prix stadium and new pavilion will begin at the end of this competition year and be ready 2014. In April (when the site is free of major construction equipment) we invite all of you to give us a call and we will be delighted to show you the new park. In our constantly changing sport, we know that you have expectations of a great venue, a solid dependable management team and a clean safe environment for your horses. We are sure that the new Caledon Equestrian Park will add immensely to your showing experience and provide you and your horses a fantastic venue to accomplish your dreams. The legacy created from this major development will provide the generations to come many fantastic opportunities to enjoy our wonderful sport. Enjoy the Ride with us! CRAIG

To All of our Competitors and Customers, We are excited to welcome you back to the new and improved Caledon Equestrian Park. As we continue our re-development of the site to accommodate the 2015 Pan/Para Pan Am Games we have done everything to ensure that you're showing experience will be enhanced with minimal disruption. Phase 1 of the development has gone extremely well. Mother Nature has been very accommodating through the fall and early winter. Our contractors and project team have worked tirelessly to ensure that all will be ready for our spring horse show season. At this point in time we are well ahead of schedule. We can confirm that all site services including storm water management, hydro and water are installed. All 3 rings receiving new footing in this phase have been built and are only awaiting the final footing layer in April. These areas are free draining sand fiber mix designed by Christian Bauer of IQ Footing. All roads, entrances and horse routes have been completed. The new barn area has been serviced and is awaiting our normal installation of portable stalls. Landscaping will done in April and tree planting will continue through the summer months. Our normal spring setup is ready to go. We are pleased that all of our great team are in place and ready for the additional challenges as we prepare for an exciting year of showing.

We are pleased to introduce 2 new shows, Caledon Premiere 1 & 2. We have listened to our customers and recognized that many of you are looking for more and new opportunities to compete with your horses. These 2 new events provide us the opportunity to meet these requests. You will find a different ambiance and the events will feature many special classes for our Hunter and Jumper competitors. We are offering over $20,000 in Prize Money for the Hunter Classics. We have also increased the level of prize money for our Junior and Amateur Jumper Riders. In addition all 1.20m, 1.30m and 1.40m Junior/Amateur classes are qualifiers for the NEW $20,000 Pan Am Challenge to take place at the 2013 Canadian Show Jumping Tournament. EMG is proud to offer Caledon Young Horse Classes which will provide a cost effective experience for developing young horses. Finally we are proud to host the OHJA Ultimate Hunter Challenge and the LongRun Thoroughbred Hunter Classic Series and Finals. All of the classes traditionally run in the Grand Prix Ring will take place in our new Annex Jumper for 2013 allowing these competitors the benefit of our new all weather footing while we wait for the completion of phase 2. It is important for us to acknowledge and than the ongoing commitment from all of our corporate partners. Without them we could not meet the challenge of producing great events for you.

Jump Canada is a committee of Equine Canada responsible for all aspects of Show Jumping in Canada from the grassroots to the international level. The board members are elected by the stakeholders in the sport—riders, owners and competition organizers. As Gold Sanctioned Equine Canada Hunter/Jumper competitions, all EMG Horse Shows are required to remit fees of $20.00 per horse entered in the hunter/jumper divisions to Jump Canada in order to support their developmental programs. These funds will be used as follows: -60% Hunter, Young Rider and Domestic Programs -35% National and International Teams -5% Administration Publicity & PR This levy is supported by EC and failure to participate may lead to suspension of Sport License.

Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the 2013 EC Rule Book, will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. All questions not covered by these rules shall be decided by the show management, whose decision will be final.

Equine Canada Statement of Principles

Equine Canada (EC), the national equestrian federation of Canada, supports adherence to humane treatment of horses in all activities under its jurisdiction. EC is committed to: • Upholding the welfare of the horses, regardless of value, as a primary consideration in all activities; • Requiring that horses be treated with kindness, respect and the compassion that they deserve, and that they never be subjected to mistreatment; • Ensuring that owners, trainers and exhibitors or their agents use responsible care in the handling, treatment and transportation of their horses as well as horses placed in their care for any purpose; • Providing for the continuous well-being of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals and competition officials to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort and safety as a matter of standard operating procedure; • Continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare; • Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their sanctioning organization’s rules, and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competition; • Reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of the horses. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane.

Any horse entered in any class at an EC Sanctioned Competition may, while on competition grounds be selected for equine medication control testing.

MEMBERSHIP: 2013 - EC General Regulations A201

All Canadian Owners & Riders must have Valid EC Gold Sport License (A205) and a Provincial Membership (OEF or equivalent) (A203).

OR Purchase a Single Event Upgrade (A211) or License Transfer (A212) for a Silver or Bronze Sport License to Gold Sport License.

OR Purchase a Temporary Sport License (A208). Must be a member of OEF or equivalent. No points will be accumulated. OHJA Membership (owner & rider) is only required to accrue provincial points. All Seniors competing in an Amateur classes must posses an EC Amateur Card. Valid USEF Membership Cards are also acceptable. FEI Competitors: must have Valid EC Platinum Sport License (A204)

PASSPORTS: 2013 - EC General Regulations A402

All Canadian entries are required to have an EC Passport with a current Horse License Sticker to compete. FEI & National Federation Passports are acceptable.

OR Exhibitor must obtain written notification from EC stating passport is en route or being processed.

OR Purchase a Temporary Horse Registration (A411.3). No points will be accumulated. A valid USEF Recording, Registration or Foreign Affidavit is also acceptable. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide to the Horse Show Office proof of memberships prior to competing. Anyone competing without proof of 2013 EC Sport License and Valid EC Passport will pay the Temporary Sport License / Temporary Horse Registration Fee at each competition until it is provided.

These fees are non refundable upon the completion of the respective competition.

Entries: Faxed, mailed will be accepted and processed. Online entries coming soon. EMG is now accepting credit cards for payment. Supporting Documents: The EMG Show office will maintain a file of documents for EMG SHOWS ONLY. You only need to produce a copy of these documents at the first EMG show you attend. Trainer/Person Responsible: EC Gold Sport License, OEF Membership Owners & Riders: EC Gold Sport License, OEF Membership. OHJA Membership is required only to accrue Provincial points Amateurs: EC Amateur Card Juniors: Date of Birth Horses/Ponies: Front page of Passport with valid 2013 License Sticker Entry Blanks: Must be complete, for all shows including signature, addresses, phone numbers, EC, OEF, OHJA where applicable and Passport numbers. Post Entries: All entries received after the entry closing date may be assessed a $25.00 post entry fee. Numbers: Only numbers with outstanding balances from previous weeks will be held until paid. Trainers are no longer responsible for clients’ unpaid accounts. Prize Money: Prize money will be credited to each horse’s account. Prize cheques will be made payable to the owner of the entry, unless the office is notified to pay to the rider. Cheques will be mailed within 21 days of the close of the horse show. Cheques will only be issued to those entries whose accounts have been paid in full. Returned Cheques: A $50.00 charge will be assessed on all returned cheques and the exhibitor will not be permitted to show at any future EMG Shows until the account has been settled. Unsettled accounts will be turned over to EC, which will result in suspension from all competitions. Schedule: The show management further reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or combine any class or condition they deem advisable without notification. Every effort will be made to provide as much notification as possible. Please check web site www.equiman.com after 8 pm for any changes. Dress Code: See Rule G109 Polo Shirts are acceptable attire in the jumper rings during the week unless otherwise noted. Proper Attire (jackets, ties, chokers, etc.) is required for all jumpers beginning Saturday morning and for the balance of each show. Proper attire is required for the Open Welcome Classes. Wash Racks: Horses must be bathed in wash rack areas only, no bathing in barn aisles. The wash rack area is for bathing horses only. Notice to American Exhibitors: While every effort will be made to assist you in the variances of EC rules over USEF rules, the sole responsibility is entirely the Exhibitors’ to be aware of EC rules. EMG does not accept cheques marked payable in Canadian Funds drawn on a US account. Dog Rule: The owner of any loose dog on the property will be fined $100.00. If found loose a second time owner will be required to remove the animal from the property. As in any public park owners are required to abide by the Town of Caledon “Poop & Scoop” by-law. The Caledon Equestrian Park Pavilion is a licensed area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the pavilion other than those purchased at the bar located inside.

STALLS: Stalls must be booked in writing, using Stall Request Form. Stalls will be assigned by EMG office. Please make sure to check Stall Map upon arrival and use the assigned stalls. You are responsible for payment of all stalls ordered. Stalls are available after 8 am 1 day prior to the start of the horse show and all horses must be removed by 12 noon the day following the completion of each show. Horses remaining in stalls after this will be charged for the additional week.

CAMPERS: All campers spaces must be reserved in writing using Camper Request Form. Camper spaces will be assigned by EMG office. Please make sure to check Camper Map upon arrival and park in the assigned spot. Camper space includes 30amp service and water hook-up. There is absolutely no gray water drainage allowed on the grounds. Any exhibitor not abiding by this Town of Caledon by-law will be fined and removed from the property. NO OPEN CAMP FIRES PERMITTED ON PROPERTY. Daily pump-outs are available, please sign up and pay at the show office. Vehicles: all vehicles must be parked in designated areas only. There is no parking on the roads or in the barn areas at any time. All motorized vehi-cles including golf carts, scooters, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, etc must be operated by Fully Licensed Drivers Only.

Open Jumper Nomination Fee: $150 Open 1.15m & above

Nominated Jumpers will only pay 1 Nomination fee. Any horse who jumps in an open class will only pay the Open Nomination fee. Nomination fees will only be refunded (less a scratch fee and administration fee) if the following conditions are met; 1) The horse has not shown in any classes. 2) The horse show veterinarian issues a scratch certificate. All jumper classes will be conducted under Articles 238.2.2 unless otherwise specified. Riders are reminded that they must declare each day for the next day’s classes. You may choose to remain in one division and declare on the entry form at the time of entering or at the office prior to the show for all of your classes.

Telephone Declarations will NOT be Accepted

CHANGES: The office closes 1/2 hour after the last class of the day for any adds or scratches. Online changes will soon be available. ADDS: Day of entries and adds may be accepted if the schedule permits. Day of Show Entries: may be charged a post entry fee of $25.00 plus a late fee of $5.00 per class. Day of Class Adds: may be charged a $5.00 late fee for each class. Riders should be prepared to go first in the order for each class entered late for the day. SCRATCHES: Nominated Jumpers: Day Of Scratches- If done in writing, before the class starts. Will receive a 50% refund of the class entry fee only. NO Jumper Nomination Fee Refunds. Show Scratch: If all classes are scratched in writing, the day before the show, all entry fees will be refunded (less a scratch fee and the administration fee). Class Scratch: Classes scratched in writing the day before will be fully refunded. Please Note: All entries submitted will be processed without payment, minimum charge for an entry will be a scratch fee and administration fee. Non-Showing Horses: All horses on the property must have a signed entry blank and a current OEF Membership. Non-showing horses will be charged a non show fee of $25.00 plus an administration fee. Non Showing Horses are not eligible to purchase Training Jumper or Hunter Warm Up Tickets. Horses found without an entry blank will be charged an additional fee of $100.00. Veterinarian/Farrier Services: Responsibility of payment for services and supplies: All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any bills for veterinary, farrier and food services. Any exhibitor not meeting this obligation to the official Show Veterinarian or farrier may be deemed an undesirable exhibitor and entries from that exhibitor may not be accepted at subsequent shows.

Short Stirrup 2’ This division is intended as an introduction to horse showing for children not ready for the regular

pony and hunter divisions. Open to “C” riders. Ponies or horses may enter. Riders in this division

may only cross enter into the Walk Trot and/or “C” Equitation on the flat classes. Riders may not

show in any other classes that requires them to jump. Suitability is a factor. Riders must enter and

show in at least one over fences class in the division to be eligible to compete in the Under Saddle

Class. Horses or ponies may show in other classes with a different rider.

Beginner Rider Adult Hunter 2’6 A Beginner Hunter is a rider who has NEVER won 3 first place ribbons over fences at an Equine

Canada (EC) or USEF Horse Show (Provincial Competitions and Combined

Training not to count). These wins are Lifetime achievements. Schooling Non-Pro and Short

Stirrup not to count. Winning your way out - If during a competitor’s first year of showing in this

division, they win 3 first place ribbons, they will be allowed to remain in the division to the

end of that calendar year. In any subsequent years of competition, should they fulfill the Win

Factor, they must progress to another division at the next show. Definition of Children's and Adult

Amateur Rider per EC rules. Class conduct as per EC rules. Riders and horses may cross enter to

other divisions for which they are eligible. Showing in this division will affect Baby Green Status.

Jogging Is not required.

OHJA Pony Power Handy Hunter Series No additional Entry Fee These classes will consist of one Handy Hunter round in the Small, Medium, and Large divisions as well as one round in the Children’s, Green Pony and Short Stirrup divisions. The Pony Power Series is intended to encourage the use of the Open Numerical Scoring System for both the enjoyment and education of the exhibitors and spectators. Open Numerical Scoring is required. Placing in a Pony Power class will determine qualifiers for the Final. Handy course could consist of: rollback, trot fence, hand gallop fence, bending line, halt, option fence, bounce, direct line to/from a jump to the in gate. Scores will be based on traditional hunter criteria with an emphasis on style and handiness. Formal attire is not required for qualifiers. Ponies will be required to jog. The OHJA will provide special ribbons and prizes to be presented to the class winners. Caledon Premier 1 - June 20-23 WEEK 5 Continued OHJA $5000 Ultimate Hunter Challenge

Open to 4,5,6,7 year old horses competing in the EC Gold Rated Divisions or the Baby Green Division Horse must have competed in Ontario at least 2 times this season (2013) in the eligible divisions stated above- current horse show can count as 2nd show Horses must compete at the height that corresponds with their current year “green” status. This includes horses that regularly compete in the non-professional divisions. For example – a horse entering that normally shows in the Adult Amateur or Children’s Hunter division will jump the height in accordance with its current year green status (pre-green, first year, second year etc.). The 4 / 5 year old section will offer three heights: 2’9, 3’ and 3’6. The 6/7 year old section will offer three heights: 2’9, 3’, and 3’6. Pre-Green II horses will be required to jump 3’ and horses in their “Regular” or “Second” year will be required to jump 3’6. Registration must include a valid copy of the horse’s papers. Tattooed thoroughbreds without papers are eligible when a letter is provided from a vet confirming the tattoo number and corresponding year of birth. Papers may be randomly checked by a show vet and cross-referenced with horses / passports. Registration forms will be available on the OJHA website and from OHJA Committee members. Ultimate Hunter Challenge Format: Two separate Challenges will be run and pinned each with three phases of competition: one for 4/5 year olds and one for 6/7 year olds.

The OHJA reserves the right to restrict entries to the top 20 riders based on overall OHJA Medal Standings for the current year. Finals do not count towards year end awards. Autumn Classic - Sept 12-15 WEEK 9 - Continued OHJA Pony Power Handy Hunter Finals 452 $1000 OHJA Pony Power Handy Hunter Finals Entry: $50 A one round handy hunter class open to ponies from the EC rated Small, Medium, and Large Pony divisions. To be shown over a course of 10 jumps with appropriate adjustments for small, medium, and large ponies. The course will include at least three tests from the following list; rollback, trot fence, hand-gallop fence, bending line, halt, option fence, gate, dismount, bounce, and direct line to/ from a jump to the ingate. Scores will be based on traditional hunter criteria with an emphasis on style and handiness. Qualified entries will have won a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place ribbon in at least one EC Small, Medium, or Large division Pony Power Class in 2013. Entries must have a current OHJA membership for both rider and owner. Entries must have shown in an EC Small, Medium, or Large Pony division at this horseshow. Formal attire is requested. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded through 10th and prize money will be awarded through 8th. $300/200/150/100/80/65/55/50 Canadian Hunter Derby Series 600 $5000 Canadian Hunter Derby Entry: $200 This high performance hunter class presents competitors an opportunity to best showcase the talents of horse and rider over a challenging course with high performance, handy and “take your own line” options. The class combines a Hunter Classic with a Handy Hunter class in a one round format. Judging: Each competitor receives a score with three components up to a maximum of 120: 1. Hunter score (out of 100) - The class is judged as a handy hunter class with a score 2. High performance bonus (up to 10 bonus points) - Two bonus points awarded for each high performance option taken on course (e.g., higher jump, natural jumps, more challenging line options). At least five options will be offered on course. 3. Handy bonus (up to 10 bonus points) – Zero to ten additional bonus points awarded at the judge’s discretion for additional handiness and high performance displayed on course, including: Efficiency of stride (eg; less strides, leave out strides), unique turns and approaches, inside turns, slices, athleticism and boldness (e.g., big gallop to jumps), impressionable start and finish. Jumps: Class run at two heights: 3’6” with 3’9” – 4’3” options and a 3’ section (at show manager discretion) with 3’3” options. Only horses jumping 3’6” section earn qualifying points for the finals. The course should include at least 12 jumps and include: 1. Traditional hunter jumps 2. Natural jumps - bank, post and rail, board fence/gate, stone wall, logs, hedge, brush, pens/chute 3. Handy options - inside turns, unique approaches, combination complex (e.g., pen), broken lines, unrelated distances Formal attire required. Open to all horses and riders. Course walk with brief riders meeting (preferably with judges and course designer). Open to all horse rider combinations. This class is not eligible for OHJA points. Open to all Junior and Amateur riders. The top 30 RIDERS will qualify for the Finals based on RIDER’S Prize Money won in all

Junior/Amateur 1.20m/1.30m/1.40m classes held at the Caledon Equestrian Park in 2013. No limit to the number of horses ridden during the season.

Selection: The top 5 prize money winners from the 1.20m/1.30m/1.40m will each automatically qualify for the finals.

Next 15 riders will be selected based on total prize money won at all heights combined, until the guaranteed number is met.

EMG will track and publish the RIDER’S Prize Money winnings throughout the season. In the Finals a Rider’s chosen horse must compete at the

height or higher that they have competed in for the largest number of classes at EMG Shows in 2013. For example a horse that has shown 10 times at

1.40m and 6 times at 1.30m will compete at 1.40m. In the event of equal number of classes the higher height will be required.

$8500 Caledon Hunter Classics

All Hunter Classics at the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament will be ridden over an extended course up to 12 jumps with numerical scores. The top

12 scores will return for an additional shortened round. Scores will be combined to determine the winners. Formal attire is suggested. Entry fee for

Classics is included in Division Entry Fee. All Hunter Classics will count towards division championships and will accumulate OHJA Points.

Canadian Show Jumping Tournament CSI2* - Sept 18-22 WEEK 10 - Continued OHJA $10,000 Ultimate Hunter Challenge Eligibility:

Open to 4,5,6,7 year old horses competing in the EC Gold Rated Divisions or the Baby Green Division Horse must have competed in Ontario at least 4 times this season (2013) in the eligible divisions stated above- current horse show can count as 4th show Horses must compete at the height that corresponds with their current year “green” status. This includes horses that regularly compete in the non-professional divisions. For example – a horse entering that normally shows in the Adult Amateur or Children’s Hunter division will jump the height in accordance with its current year green status (pre-green, first year, second year etc.). The 4 / 5 year old section will offer three heights: 2’9, 3’ and 3’6. The 6/7 year old section will offer three heights: 2’9, 3’, and 3’6. Pre-Green II horses will be required to jump 3’ and horses in their “Regular” or “Second” year will be required to jump 3’6. Registration must include a valid copy of the horse’s papers. Tattooed thoroughbreds without papers are eligible when a letter is provided from a vet confirming the tattoo number and corresponding year of birth. Papers may be randomly checked by a show vet and cross-referenced with horses / passports. Registration forms will be available on the OJHA website and from OHJA Committee members. Ultimate Hunter Challenge Format: Two separate Challenges will be run and pinned, each with three phases of competition: one for 4/5 year olds and one for 6/7 year olds. $5000 Ultimate Hunter Challenge 4 & 5 Year Olds

This award will be presented to the trainer of the Champion Horse in each age group. The Leading Trainers will each receive a $250 cheque courtesy

Ultimate Hunter Award

This award will be presented at the OHJA Awards Banquet. The award will go to the horse with the highest overall score accumulation of the two
