IBM SmartCloud Entry for
System x proof of technology This balanced, expandable and cost effective solution,
simplifies the quick deployment of a first Cloud platform. It
enables to accommodate major software of the market for
resources provisioning and automation, such as IBM
SmartCloud Entry.
Developed by the three infrastructure leaders, This solution is
the key element of a private Cloud. With hosting and storage
capacity for about fifty virtual machines on VMware vSphere, it
can be expanded as required or juxtaposed to a second
configuration of the same type.
Standards and simplicity for a progressive
implementation
This solution is for private Cloud operators, who think about
load growth flexible and gradual; while benefiting from the
beginning from a high efficiency level of their infrastructure.
The investment, reasonable at the beginning, paves the way
for all the functional or in capacity developments, depending
on the pace and profile of needs.
Open to the Cloud management software
The virtualization platform integrated to the pack– VMware
vSphere 4.1.1 with VMware vCenter – accommodate many
offers of the market. IBM recommends IBM Smart Cloud
Entry– x86 Edition for its ease of use.
IBM SmartCloud Entry – x86 Edition
Software solution transforming your virtualized platform from
“ready for Cloud” to “operational Cloud” in record time. The
users can save and size themselves a work environment
through a Web interface.
On its side, the It department has a productivity tool to
monitor this environment, improve the efficiency and usage of
resources and keep control on the private cloud. Approvals,
measures, invoicing per user or projects through a unique
interface, IBM Smart Cloud Entry helps the administrator and
standardizes the images and the virtual machines.
Developed on an Open Source platform. Run the API REST and
VMware vCenter.

The Montpellier Cloud Center developed a special bootcamp to enable business partner on the
installation, configuration and utilisation of the SmartCloud Entry.
_ Objective: This 1,5 days bootcamp aims at enable an IT specialist or Architect to install and configure a
Private Cloud Solution (Infrastructure as a Service) based on the IBM Smart Cloud Entry. The attendees will
have the opportunity to install the IBM Smart Cloud Entry management software and use this solution to
deploy services in a Private cloud. We will start the session with the overview of the IBM SmartCloud portfolio
and will go through all the steps of implementing a quick IaaS solution with the SmartCloud Entry.
Click here to have more information about the SmartCloud Entry offering
