Cedar Hill ISD will become a premier district with a world class educational
system.
District MissionThe mission of Cedar Hill Independent School District, as the leader in world class education, is to develop confident leaders with the character, knowledge and skills to excel in any endeavor they pursue; accomplished through master educators utilizing relevant and innovative curricula, a commitment to engage families and the community as educational partners and advocates, supported by premier facilities and operations.
Financial Facts
• During the past 5 years the school district trimmed $3.5 million dollars from its budget.
• The Texas Comptroller rated CHISD as one of the top-rated school districts in the state. The Comptroller gave CHISD a 5-star rating in its Financial Allocation Study of Texas (FAST). FAST measures the financial practices and academic achievements of school districts.
• For the past 6 years CHISD has received a perfect score in the state Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas that measures how efficiently a school district spends tax dollars.

Community advisory committee
• In March 2011, citizens explored ways to plug the projected deficit left by cuts in state funding
• The committee was Co-Chaired by Mayor Rob Franke and Billie Ballengee
• Members included over 75 parents, students, community members and local business owners
• After 3 months of meetings and analysis, the Committee recommended to the CHISD Board of Trustees that both a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) and a Bond Election be called
Community bond planningThe committee present their recommendations to the
CHISD Board of Trustees. The committee’s recommendation was the basis for the bond and TRE
packages that voters will consider on November 8, 2011
What is included in the bond?
Construction began on the first Cedar Hill school building in 1906. It was completed for a total cost of $10,000 and opened for the1908-09 school year.
