February Greetings, Chargers! Hopefully we witnessed our last major snowstorm of the season. I will admit, though, that I loved the blizzard ef ‐ fect. It is not often that the entire area shuts down and forces families to spend time together. I hope you were able to shovel snow and then enjoy each other’s com‐ pany over a cup of hot chocolate! Dundee‐Crown students spend plenty of time together. I am so proud of their actions in and around school. They definitely demonstrate Charger Pride. Through their be‐ havior they show responsibility, respectfulness, and a positive outlook. During time before or after school they read or listen to music, get assistance if needed from a teacher or our tutoring center, chat with their friends while eating breakfast or lunch, play ball in the field house or finish their homework. School is very demanding for high school students. We expect them to excel in academics, sports and/or music, and build strong relationships all while also working a job, babysitting a younger sibling, or volunteering their time after school. Many of our students push them‐ selves to do just that. However, February is the month many students become overwhelmed with all the pres‐ sure as they wait for the winter doldrums to end. Our staff at Dundee‐Crown is working to make sure our students have the necessary skills needed for them to be successful in life after D‐C. We need your help to assist us with that endeavor. If your student has an academic issue, please do not hesitate to call the teacher or the department divisional. If you notice your student is un‐ der stress or emotional fatigue, please call their coun‐ selor or our social workers. If your student feels bullied or has conflicts with other students our deans should be contacted. We want to be their support so please use us if a problem arises. Keep pushing that Charger Pride!
