Neuschwanstein CastleOne of the top tourist destinations in all of Germany, King Ludwig’s “Disney Castle” is an enjoyable experience for the whole family. After a scenic drive through Austria you will learn of this Mad King’s life and tour his infamous castle. On the way home you will visit the Wieskirche, a pilgrimage church of the Baroque/Rococo style, and the Ammertal wood carving shop for an opportunity to purchase beautifully crafted decor.It is a 45-minute uphill walk to reach the castle entrance (alternative means are available for an additional Euro fee) and there are over 300 steps within the castle.

Crown Jewels of Munich CityTravel to the capital of Bavaria for a full day of everything Munich. You’ll pass by the grounds of the world-famous Oktoberfest held every year, tour the Rathaus town hall and witness the time-honored tradition of the Glockenspiel play clock chiming with dancers, jousters and knights. Afterwards you’ll walk to the Hofbräuhaus, one of the city’s oldest breweries, and lastly make your way to the Residenz to view crown jewels of Munich’s past royals. You’ll then have time for shopping, lunch and exploration of the Marienplatz.

Dachau Concentration Camp“Arbeit Macht Frei” (Work makes you free) takes you into the solemn Concentration Camp of Dachau. You will view an English video presentation about the camp and tour the museum. Afterwards you may explore the compound on your own or follow a guide.This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 12. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to watch the documentary film or enter the theater.

Crystal World & Innsbruck CityVisit the Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens, Austria. You’ll have the chance to experience the eclectic and fascinating multimedia art gallery that has become one of Tirol’s mostpopular attractions. Then shop at their largest crystal outlet before heading to Innsbruck, home of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics for sightseeing. On the way home you’ll stop at the Wilten Basilica, one of the most beautiful in Northern Tirol.

Linderhof PalaceLinderhof Palace became King Ludwig’s summer home in the 1870s. Enjoy local folklore and descriptive information of the area as you travel along a scenic highway toward the palace. Upon arrival you will be guided through King Ludwig’s summer home by a certi-fied English speaking guide. After the palace tour you will visit Oberammergau where you will have time to shop at the famous wood carving shops, explore the many frescos the town has to offer and view the exterior of the world renown Passion Play Theater.

Partnach Gorge Day or NightExperience the spectacular views of a rushing gorge right in the heart of Garmisch. You’ll be given historic information at the Olympic Ski Jump Stadium and at the gorge itself. Then travel through the beautifully carved stone as water flows through the caverns and icicles hang above you. If you take the Night tour you will be guided by torchlight through the gorge. Then indulge in a tasty dessert and/or hot beverage in the dramatic Partnach Gästhaus. Minimum age for the Night Gorge tour is 8 years old. Day Tour requires aminimum of 5 guests to run, Night Tour requires a minimum of 15 guests.

Bavarian Brotzeit / Ettal TourYour first stop will be at the “Schaukäserei” in the beautiful Ammergauer Alps. At thischeese factory you will discover how local farmers make cheese and other delicious dairyproducts. After a tour through the factory and viewing of a short film you will taste a tra-ditional Bavarian Meal - “Brotzeit Teller.” Afterward head to the Ettal Monastery to see the exquisite Basilica. You will have an opportunity to purchase some of the Monks’ famous home-made beers and liqueurs.

Griesbräu BreweryJoin a unique hands-on experience at the Griesbräu Brewery. Get an up-close showing of how your favorite types of beers are brewed including Helles, Dunkel & Weissbier, along with tasting their very own beer schnapps. Afterwards relax and enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere of a true Bavarian beer hall.

Horse & Carriage RidesEnjoy the simple pleasure of a horse-drawn carriage ride through beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen. One of our most popular activities that the whole family can enjoy and agreat way to get acquainted with Garmisch. Children 1-14 must pay child’s price.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen City TourBegin your tour by taking a stroll down Ludwigstrasse, the oldest part of Partenkirchen. Your guide will point out the historic murals, guest houses and history of this quaint city. After a quick drive into Garmisch you’ll peruse the farmer’s market, learn the history of Garmisch and enjoy free time to explore the unique Marienplatz or dine in a charming restaurant.

Indoor Rock ClimbingThis is an introductory course to rock climbing. Learn basic rock climbing skills, rope work, knots, belay, rappel systems and safety procedures. Class is held at the Hausberg Sport Lodge. See if you can tackle the crag! Minimum of 2 guests to run.

Zugspitze - A Peak Experience

The summit view at 2,962 meters is an unforgettableexperience for the whole family. Lift tickets can bepurchased at Alpine Adventures and are valid any day of the season. One ticket price allows access to the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn, Eibsee-Seilbahn and Gletscherbahn for one trip up and one trip down. Because tickets are non-refundable we suggest purchasing your tickets the morning of your adventure rather than in advance.

Kids Night OutLet us entertain the kids for the evening while you spend some time together over a nice meal. Kids are fed and have a multitude of activities do after dinner. This program is one of our most successful and encouraged activities. Reservations can be made at AlpineAdventures. Available for children ages 5-12. A minimum of 4 paid children for theprogram to run. Children must be 5 years old on the day of participation.

Just for Ski Kids $90 per child, per dayCertified instructors teach kids ages 5-7 how to ski through encouragement andachievement. Instructors create the perfect mix of fun, adventure and learning that will provide them a foundation to build from in the future. Our instructors have an enthusiasm for the sport and the mountains that will spread to your kids and give them the same excitement.Includes lunch, equipment rental and lessons.Just for Ski Kids operates 0900 - 1500 when there is snow on our private slope.Please contact the Vacation Planning Center for reservations.

u.s. army garrison garmischAt the USAG Garmisch Child, Youth & School Services, you will find the same quality programs youreceive at your home garrison. If your children are registered with CYS Services at home, we canarrange to have their files sent to us electronically and save you paperwork. Whether you’re here for a few days or a few weeks, we’ll make your time in Garmisch as enjoyable for your kids as it is for you!

Child Care Child care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old is available at the USAG Garmisch Child Development Center, located next to the Edelweiss Resort Vacation Village. The CDC can often accommodate same-day requests, but reservations are recommended. Ski/Snowboard Instruction Weeks (4 or 5 day lessons)Our comprehensive week-long instruction programs are designed to improve your skiing and snowboarding skills while having fun and enjoying the picturesque mountain settings of the Garmisch valley. We offer classes from beginner through advanced taught by PSIA-AASI certified instructors. If you have never touched a pair of skis or a snowboard in your life, learn at a leisurely pace on ourprivate slope. If you are an intermediate or experienced rider, sharpen your skills from our pro instructors who know the mountain best. Please contact the VacationPlanning Center to sign up.

Two-Day Holiday ProgramEspecially for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents Day Weekend, these Holiday Programs are the perfect way to fit in a weekend snow sports getaway during the busy year. Participate on Saturday and Sunday in two full days of instruction with transportation, lift tickets and equipment rental included. Weekends of 15-16 January and 19-20 February only. Please contact the VacationPlanning Center to sign up.

Beginner Special (1 or 2 day lessons)Learn the basic fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding at a leisurely pace on our private slope. One day not enough? Sign up for a 2-day lesson to practice even more. The Beginner Special includes a 4-hour beginner lesson taught by a certified instructor, equipment rental and a Hausberg Backyard pass for the duration of you lesson. Pleasecontact the Vacation Planning Center, Hausberg Sport Lodge or Alpine Adventures to sign up. 2-day lessons are available starting Mondays and Saturdays.

Daily LessonsThese 2-hour lessons are designed to focus on specific areas of growth as a skier or snowboarder. You can book these as a private, semi-private or group lesson. The daily lessons do not include equipment or lift tickets to other slopes (Hausberg Backyard pass is included duringlesson). Please contact the Hausberg Sport Lodge tosign up. Spa EtiquettePlease arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled service to fill out a health intake form and to use the restroom or shower. If you should arrive late, your session may be shortened to ensure the satisfaction of all guests.During each treatment, you will be fully draped and covered with a sheet. Loose clothing is advised forany waxing treatments. Gratuities are not included,but appreciated.

CancellationsWe require a minimum four hour notice to change or cancel appointments. Cancellations made within four hours are subject to a $20 room charge. No notification will result in a full charge of service. Cancellations must be made directly with the POiNT desk at the number above.

HealthDrink plenty of water and avoid caffeine/alcohol before and after your treatment. Anyone with a contagious condition such as a cold or flu should not receive amassage. A massage worsens your condition,spreading it throughout the body.
