Clinicians: Diabetes Cases – Facilitator will present case and clinicians will be asked to provide their opinion. Cases will focus on use of medications to address dyslipidemia in diabetes (to include addressing abnormal liver enzyme tests), early recognition and treatment of chronic renal disease in diabetes to include adjustment of medication dose, resistant hypertension and depression in diabetesFacilitators: Charles Booras, MD; Helena Karnarni, MD; Anne Waldron, MD;Scotty Whiddon, MD

Assistants: Cases that provide staff tips on how to motivate patients who are having difficulty achieving nutrition and physical activity goalsPresenters: Catherine Christie, PhD; Tim DeViese; Evelyn Schumacher

Registration Fees: Attendance is limited and early registration is strongly suggested.

$150 Clinicians (Family Physicians, PAs, ARNPs) – may attend without Assistant$75 Assistants (RNs, LPNs, MAs) – must attend with Clinician

Accreditation

The Florida Academy of Family Physicians is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Florida Academy of Family Physicians designates this educational activity for a maximum of six (6) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. NOTE: CME activities receiving the AAFP evidence-based CME (EB CME) designation will earn double Prescribed credit for the portion designated as EB CME. Application for up to an additional six (6) AAFP Prescribed EB-CME credits is pending. Credits will apply toward FLORIDA PRESCRIBED (chapter) activities.
