Friday, September 3 – 7:30 pmHeidelberg Youth Chamber OrchestraThe Heidelberg Youth Chamber Orchestra, considered one of the best ensembles in Germany, is made up of talented musicians aged 15 to 24. Under the leadership of internationally renowned conductor Thomas Kalb, the orchestra has received numerous prestigious awards in Germany and abroad. Experience the magnificent sound from this chamber orchestra with the marvelous acoustics of the High River United Church as they perform a repertoire that includes works by Purcell, Tchaikovsky and Piazzolla.“Thomas Kalb made such music that it took the audience’s breath away…There was heartfelt and prolonged stamping and applause…” Lausitzer Rundschau

Sunday, October 3 – 2:30 pmJacqueline Serpas, soprano, & Michael Angell, pianoJacqueline Serpas, and Michael Angell, a creative vocal and piano duo, have performed extensively in Canada and Argentina. This fall they will be releasing their premier recording of lieder and Spanish songs recorded at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto. The High River recital will feature a variety of entertaining and passionate songs from their new CD, including works by Strauss, Granados and Falla.

Saturday, November 6, 2010 – 2:30 pm Master-classSaturday, November 6, 2010 – 7:30 pm ConcertHeather Henderson-Hyrhoriw, Musical Theatre & Opera/OperettaYou are invited to two unique musical events with renowned Calgary vocal coach and soloist, Heather Henderson- Hyrhoriw. The pianist for this masterclass and concert will be Ron Bennie. In the afternoon, you can listen in as Heather works with some of the finest voice students from Southern

Alberta. If you have never attended a master-class you will find it a very enriching and informative experience. Later, Heather will collaborate with these wonderful students for a dazzling evening concert of musical theatre, opera and operetta.

Sunday, January 30, 2011 – 2:30 pmTrio Lajoie: Ariane Lajoie, Chloé Dominquez & Akiko TomingaTrio Lajoie was founded in 2008 and has played in festivals and halls to great acclaim throughout Quebec. Violinist, Ariane Lajoie, cellist, Chloé Dominquez and pianist, Akiko Tominga all perform internationally as soloists, recording artists and chamber musicians. Their Western Canadian debut will be here in High River when they perform an afternoon of hauntingly beautiful French chamber music by Debussy and Ravel.

Georgy is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, where he actively performs and records. He tours extensively throughout Europe, North America and his native Russia. The Gift of Music Concert Series is thrilled to bring a musician of Georgy’s stature to High River. Join us for a sensational evening with this virtuosic pianist.
