On “Denying education problematic” (Jordan Jochim, Sept. 20, 2010) OpinionAnonymousposted 9.20.10 @ 2:04 P.M.I am assuming the solution for these immigrants to afford attend-ing a university as the U would be financial aid. If these students can prove to be responsible in paying off the money our school loans them (even though somewhere around 60% of us native students don’t ever pay off our own loans entirely...), then I agree with you, we should stand with open arms!

Redfest starts off week of events

Dance keeps U’s crimson tradition alive

Results of Legacy of Lowell Community Service Day

Organized 100 lbs of medical supplies, renovated 30 homes, distributed 700 books to Title 1 elementary schools, landscaped 2 acres, sorted 3,019 lbs of food at the Food Bank including 288 child food boxes, created 189 educational packets for students, set up 200 chairs, 25 tables and 500 sparkling lights for the Neighborhood House, an organization that raises money for after-school activities, knitted 64 hats for newborns, stitched 20 quilts for refugee families, tutored 34 adults in ESL, spread 1 ton of compost for a garden at Mountain View Elementary.

5K: 8:30 a.m.Preregistration-$18 for students, $22 for U faculty and alumni, $25 for all other runners, starts at 8:30 a.m.

Kids run: $12, starts at 9:15 a.m.

Day of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. $30 for adults and $15 for kids.

Awards will be given out from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
