On Saturday night-Sunday morning, June 21, 2009 gardeners from theEnglish Cave Community Garden prepared a spectacular party in the gardenfor friends and neighbors from the Benton Park Neighborhood. The garden is a project of the Benton Park Neighborhood Association.We were also able to use Sandy and Bob LaRouche's house as a gathering spot near the garden and celebrated her 70 thbirthday on June 23rd. Some 100 folks attended this Solstice-oriented event and it was aMidsummer's Night Dream indeed!! As part of the party the Celestial Theatre burned some conifers associated with Christmas time and in part donated by gardener Daven Schanshe.Marian Amies made a nice rag doll burnable effigy for Sandy.
