Venue: Hotel Shivalikview Sector 17, Chandigarh Date: June 21, 2019 (Friday) Time: 6.30 pm Distribution of Certificates and Kits to successful trainees of CCET, Diploma Wing In our regular meeting on June 14, 2019 President Rtn Ashok Puri welcomed the Chief Guest Mr SK Kaul, Vice Principal of CCET (Diploma Wing), instructors and the students who successfully completed the six months vocational courses in plumbing, electrifical, air condition and refrigeration. Address by Chief Guest Vice Principal Mr SK Kaul Welcome address by President Ashok Puri PP Vinod Jawa, Director Vocational Service The President handed over the proceedings to Director Vocational Service PP Rtn Vinod Kumar Jawa, who conducted the distribution of certificates and kits to 50 students in a very systematic manner, within the scheduled time. This course / project was started in Rotary year 2015-16 when Rtn Kanan Diwan was the President and PP RK Luther was Director Vocational Service. MoU was signed by our Club and CCET, Diploma Wing. Since then 50 to 60 students of low income group are benefitting from these vocational courses every year. They have been well placed in Govt departments, self employment and even settled abroad. In his brief, crisp and inspiring address Mr SK Kaul said, “I thank Rotary Club Chandigarh Midtown for starting a socially helpful program which is technically helped by CCET, bringing more than 300 students to our college.” He added, “Our highly trained instructors and lecturers were able to impart very useful practical training to the students.” Mr Kaul hoped that more needy people should look for self employment instead of depending on the government. They should be doing such skill development training, which is the vision of our Prime Minister. Distribution of certificates and kits on June 13, 2019 to 28 girls, successful trainees of Computer Course which was held at CCET (Diploma Wing) Sector 26, Chandigarh. Many Rotarians of our Club were present along with Chief Guest Principal Mrs Sanjana Arora. Students were also given 16 GB pen drives which were sponsored by daughter-in-law of PP BL Ramsisaria PP Rtn RK Luther presents a memento to the Chief Guest Mr SK Kaul, Vice Principal, CCET (Diploma Wing). Our heartfelt condolences to R’ann Herpreet Gill on the sad demise of PP Rtn Col AJS Gill on 5th January 2019. Col Gill was President of our Club in 1995-96 and
