Suppose people told you that a huge sea monster lives nearby. Would you make them prove it to you? People have talked about a creature called the Loch Ness Monster, nicknamed Nessie, for years. But does it really exist?
Loch Ness is a lake in Scotland. In 1933, some visitors reported a strange sight. It was a creature like a whale in the lake. It was very long and rolled around in the water. In 1934, someone photographed a creature with a long neck in the lake. Experts decided that photo was a fake.
People still try to solve the mystery. They take photos and videos hoping to see Nessie. Scientists use sonar to locate underwater objects. They record sounds underwater.
People called the monster “Nessie.” Some people believe Nessie exists. Others have different ideas. Nessie may really be a big animal such as a seal. It may be a strangely shaped log. Or people may be trying to fool others. What do you think?
