Welcome to our “1B” class at Instituto Thomas Jefferson. We have a very busy and exciting year in store for us!

Before I give you a short preview of first grade, let me introduce myself. I am Mónica Salazar and I have lived in Guadalajara all my life. I studied at the American School of Guadalajara from pre-first to 12th grade. I have a B.A. in graphic design from UNIVA. This will be my 9th year at Thomas Jefferson. While studying my career I fell in love with teaching and here I am, I’ve been teaching for 18 years. I have a Masters in International Education from the University of Framingham. I love art and dancing, I’ve been a dance teacher too! I have a baby Chihuahua named Matilda, I love her.

Bienvenidos a nuestro salón, 1B. Nos espera un año muy emocionante y de mucho trabajo.

Les hablaré un poco de mi. Soy Mónica Salazar y soy de Guadalajara Jalisco. Estudié en el American School desde pre-primero hasta prepa. Tengo una licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico de la UNIVA. Este es mi noveno año en el Instituto Thomas Jefferson. Mientras estudiaba Diseño Gráfica trabajé de auxiliar en el American School y me enamoré de la enseñanza y aquí estoy, ya con 18 años en la educación. Tengo una maestría en Educación Internacional de la Universidad de Framingham. Me gusta el Arte y bailar, también he dado clases de baile. Tengo una bebé perrita, es Chihuahua y se llama Matilda…la amo…es mi vida!!!!
