child to use in their classrooms. The fundraising committee will be calling for parents from each class to work on a stall at our movie night. This is a great way to support your child as well as supporting the school. Volunteer now. Contact the office to sign up. The Wizard of Oz On Wednesday 31st July, our whole school attended the outstanding performance of the ‘Wizard of Oz’ presented by the students of Galston High School. It was a wonderful show. The highlight was the entry of the wicked witch which was enhanced using a range of pyrotechnics. Lunch in the park after the show was also a wonderful treat and a great way to finish off the day.

Congratulations. We are extremely proud of Shivani, one of our year 6 students who has been accepted into a Selective High School next year. We are sure she will continue to flourish throughout her educational journey.

Code Club We would like to set up a code club at school. Code Club is a nationwide network of volunteer-led coding clubs with a mission to #getkidscoding! It is a charity with the aim of giving every child the skill, confidence and opportunity to shape their world. All Code Clubs are free to join, and are supported by volunteers, parents, educators and our partners. The class would run 1 hour a week. Code club has great projects, resources and guides to help us on our way.

We are looking for volunteers to help run this club. A day or time has not yet been decided, so if you have a preference let us know. To volunteer you must;

Be available for up to one hour a week to run a Code Club session. Commit to volunteering for at least one school term (10-12 weeks).

Make time to prepare for the Code Club session (usually 45 mins to print resources or complete the project before teaching it).

Organise a free Working with Children Check (application process may vary by state). Be confident with computers and how to navigate them (mainly to webpages).

If you would like to take a look at the type of things involved in code club take a look here https://codeclubau.org/projects
