Pereau Kings County my first interaction with Counselling I have worked with a group of 8 children 4 – 8 who were

Developmentally delayed in one way or another. We were to keep their school skills up during the summer while doing a lot of fun activities

I was working with 2 children one child had been kept hidden from society in a house before he came to live with his new family he was 8 they used to shove a tray of food into the room and shut the door their was no light he had had very little contact with people It was reported and he was taken from the family and was just starting to trust people because he and spent most of his life in a dark attic he would wear a hood or his sweater over his head to simulate dark he was being taught how to communicate with others and proper behaviour out in the community

The other child was only 4 and he was another child who had been taken from his home and given a new home he was learning how to use utensils to eat properly as he would shove food into his mouth until he could get no more in it was a chocking danger he also was non verbal

I have always had an interest in the Human services Field I was a person who was always the one people turned to to find

out where to go to get help found out what they needed help in and found the source that they needed to go to to get the information or I was

Going through the human services program has given me the passion and motivation to pursue this career.

Because of the human services program, I can inspire clients to fulfill their own passions and ambitions.

My life experience and my certification from Success College make me a mentor for others.

What do You have to offer our company? In my previous position I worked many of the unperffered shifts I never missed time from work and always arrived early for my

shifts usually the first to arrive and the last person to leave I would make it into work on storm days when others much

closer to work would not make it in I was the person who would update phone lists and make sure

that we had enough materials to complete the days work I tend to follow policy and procedures to ensure that care is

given equally

Tell me about your self ? I am a mature responsible and caring individual I have been told that If I am given a job to do that they know it

will be done and completed with in time restraint's and they never have to worry that the job will no be completed

I look for solutions to problems and will submit them for approval to be able to solve o going issues for example an out dated telephone list . I would go through the list and call to confirm the numbers and up date the list with the corrections and submit to supervisor for approval to be used

I have hired trained and fired when needed 213 employees for the federal referendum for the yes no vote on the Quebec question

I have also been the supervisor of our local hall student employees having to interview train and instruct the duties and schedules and time lines for evens and festivals booking our mascot at other festivals and events in the area

What would you consider to be the ideal company to work for?

My ideal company to work for wold allow me to use the training I have just finished at success College by allowing me to use the knowledge I have learned and experience with helping clients to achieve their goals and help them to be a healthy individual in the end

I would also hope the company would allow for upgrading any certifications that would be necessary to the industry and promote this

How would you be a benefit to this company? I feel that I can be of benefit to the company by caring for the

clients and trying to gain their trust and being able to work for and with them to achieve a happy and healthy live style that allows them to grow to their full potential and helping to find solutions to issues that they are dealing with

Passionate about expanding my knowledge and education in this changing field

What are your biggest strengths?

One of my Strengths is my ability to communicate by this I mean listening effectively to the clients to ensure the right choices are followed to ensure a healthy and responsible outcome

Another strength is Solving time sensitive problems. I enjoy working under pressure and toward measurable goals. In doing this I have achieved the goals. I have been respected and praised for my achievements in working towards measurable goals by Clients and Co workers. Because of my vast experience training and commitment to this end . I am very proud o say I have never lost a customer or not been able to find a solution to the clients problems . This is something I am very proud of and demonstrates my commitment to the Human Services field and this is why I feel with this experience combined with my educational achievements makes me a good fit for the position and I would be really excited to be a member of your team.

What are your weaknesses ? My weakness is my hearing disability. I have a problem hearing

certain tones, volume levels and distinguishing what is being said especially in areas where there is a lot of background noise.

I try to inform my manger, coworkers and clients of my disability and tell people how they can gently let me know if I am loud. I explain that I do no hear my self or am I able to tell what my tone is like. As I cannot hear myself. What I see as discussing a point may be taken as me being aggressive when I am not.

I have been working with my Ent specialist and we a re trying a listening device when these situations arise along with facing the speaker as I take cues form the speaker. When I am having trouble hearing as well as trying to be mindful when I may be speaking louder and that their may be a tone that I do not hear.

The Result has been that most people understand and take this into consideration and it makes for a good working relationship with those willing to keep this in mind and these people will be their when other do not believe
