13 Mrs. Sandra Allen Head Teacher Diary Dates REMEMBER Well done To check our website for class and PTA information www.frenchayprimary.ik.org . We are approaching the end of a busy Summer Term with lots of activities still to be carried out. The choir represented us at the Music Festival at the Colston Hall on the evening of Friday 26 th June. The evening went well with the children singing beautifully alongside children from other schools. Thank you to everyone who was able to come along and support the children. A big thank you to Mr. Gabb for organising this event. If you missed this event and would like to hear the choir sing you have another opportunity at the Flower Show on the 18 th July at 4.00pm. We are still hoping that we will be able to have a Sports afternoon before the end of term. Wednesday 22 nd July at 1.30 pm is our last attempt!! Let’s hope for good weather but not too hot. To end our whole school topic on ‘Diversity and Variation’ we will be holding a special assemble this Friday at 2.30pm. Following this assembly you may visit your child’s class where they can show you everything they have done in respect of this topic together with any other work completed this term. Thursday 9 th July shuffle up afternoon for all children. Please collect your child from their new class. 10 th July Open afternoon 3.00 – 4.00 15 th -17 th July Year 6 residential 17 th July school reports distributed 18.07.09 Frenchay Flower Show choir singing at 4.00 20.7.09 James & the Giant Peach afternoon production 2 p.m. 21.7.09 Evening performance of James & the Giant Peach 6.30 p.m. 22.07.09 Sports afternoon weather permitting!!!! 1.30 pm 24.07.09 Leavers service in the church at 2pm 24.07.09 End of Term 6 School Starts Thursday 3 rd Sept. Please note there is no In-Service training at the beginning of Term 1 Friday 16 th October In-service training 23 rd October End of Term 1 2 nd November Term 2 begins 8.07.09 To our winners Freddie, Fenella, Edward and Christian who guessed the nearest number of balloons in the car. Many thanks to the dedicated PTA members who blew up all the balloons!!! Stop Press Dinner money will be £1.60 from September If your child is in KS2 in September and would like to play an instrument please see Mrs Milkins as we have a few spaces. REMEMBER James and the Giant Peach productions are on Monday 20 th July at 2 pm and Tuesday 21 st July at 6.30 pm. The PTA will be providing a cream tea after the afternoon performance. All parents are welcome to join us for this tea regardless whether you have attended this performance. Shuffle up afternoon is tomorrow. Please collect your child from their new class. Afternoon Tea at the church by Charlie Beaves On Sunday 28 th June in the afternoon a variety of children played an instrument in the church for afternoon tea. The people who played were Grace hayden, Charlie Beaves, Fenella Ford, Georgie Hoare, Jack Grant and Edward Grant. Miss Phelps the Class 2 teacher was there listening to the music and people from the church were there as well. Grace played the piano, Charlie played the trumpet, Fenella played the flute, Georgie played the piano, Jack and Edward played the trumpet. IMPORTANT INFORMATION there is a large funeral service at the church at 3.00 on Monday 13 th July with a number of cars expected. If you can it would be advisable to walk as parking may be a problem.
