St. Mary’s Parish June 19, 2016

This summer, take courage and Be A Man who is Holy. St John Vianney said, “This is the glorious duty of a man: to pray and love.” To be Holy, you have to do these two things: Pray and Love. The world must know that you love the Father. This is done by Praying and Loving. Let’s live it the best we can this summer.

DIVINE RENOVATION CONFERENCE 2016

— JUNE 13 & 14, 2016 —

The Companions of the Cross, the Servants of the Cross, St Mary’s staff and parish representatives attended a truly inspiring event, the Divine Renovation Conference 2016 (DR16), in Halifax last week and are very eager to have St. Mary’s parishioners expe-rience aspects of the conference as well.

Based on Fr James Mallon’s best-selling book, Divine Renovation, the two-day conference brought together clergy and laity, both Catholic and non-Catholic, all of whom are seeking to renew and transform their churches and parishes.

The main talks by the key note speakers were recorded and can be accessed at http://livestream.com/accounts/6379109 .

Even people who did attend the conference might want to hear the talks again.

These powerful speakers at the conference were the following: Peter Herbeck, Fr. James Mallon, Ron Huntley, Rick Fersch, Patrick Lencioni, Nicky & Sila Lee

The testimonies, also online for viewing, are mighty evidence of the Holy Spirit working in the everyday lives of everyday people.

As well, copies of the book can be borrowed from our parish library (see below).

Every one who is excited about the book, or who would like to see what marvellous things are possible in a church community, can go to the website and be edified by these talks, the music and the faith of those who attended the conference.

See how many of our brothers and sisters you recognize recorded on video!

PARISH OFFICE SUMMER HOURS

- JUNE 27 to AUGUST 19 -

Beginning on Monday June 27, St Mary’s Parish office will begin

summer hours. The office will be open:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30am to 1.30pm

Reduced office hours will allow staff to take vacation, and also provide uninterrupted work time for tasks that require many hours of focussed energy: data base cleanup, archiving documents, up-dating calendars & schedules, working on facility projects, etc.

Divine Mercy Library

NEW ARRIVALS

We now have 5 copies of Fr. Mallon’s Divine Renovation, the book that inspired the recent conference in Halifax. Drop by the library, browse our shelves and check out a copy of the book that is caus-ing such a stir.

HELP NEEDED!

A HUGE thank you to all those who have come forward to volun-teer at the Library. We’re still looking for a few more people. Time commitment is only 2 hrs per month and it’s a great opportunity to meet parishioners, engage in the New Evangelization and to be part of a great team! Drop by the Library, we’d love to meet you!

CALLING THE HOSPITABLE

Our hospitality ministry is in desperate need of more

people to make and serve coffee after the Sunday

masses, starting in September. It only takes a team

of two (parent & child; husband & wife; two siblings)

to make possible this important ministry every week. The more

people willing to serve occasionally, the less often each team will

be called upon. Please consider volunteering to be a part of our

Sunday hospitality team.

Call Anna Mallaci at 613-237-5411 to be included on the schedule.

Since its publication, Fr James Mallon's best selling book, DIVINE RENOVATION has ignit-

ed a flame in the hearts of many pastors and church leaders throughout the world who

have a desire to see their church renewed and transformed.

Six hundred delegates, both Catholic and non-Catholic, pastors and lay, attended the first

ever DIVINE RENOVATION CONFERENCE 2016 (DR16) at Saint Benedict’s Parish in Halifax where they were welcomed, inspired,

informed, equipped and empowered to bring transformation to their own faith communities.

Topics and themes from the book were presented by the faith-filled speakers described below. Be inspired by these talks and by testi-

monies at the following link: http://livestream.com/accounts/6379109

olic renewal throughout the U.S., Canada, Africa, and Eastern Europe for the past 30 years. Peter is a co-host for the weekly EWTN

television programs.

Nicky and Sila Lee

Nicky and Sila Lee, the founders of The Marriage & Marriage Preparation Courses, have developed and produced resources to help

support family life through the local church over the last 30 years.

tion of the parishes he serves. He brings years of experience from within the business world, and previously served as the President

teams, and its impact extends beyond business to schools, churches, non-profit organizations, professional sports teams and the

military. The Five Dysfunctions of a Team has sold over two million copies and continues to be a fixture on national best-seller lists
