4 SAFETYFailure to comply with following cautions and warning could cause equipment damage or personal injury.

WARNING: To avoid personal injury and possible equipment damage make sure all hydrau-lic components withstand the maximum pressure of 10000 psi.

Pag. 6

WARNING: DO NOT EXCEED EQUIPMENT RATIN-GS. Never attemp to lift a load weighing more than the capacity of the jack. Over-loading causes equipment failure and possible personal injury. The jacks are designed for a max. pressure of 10000 psi. Do not connect the jack to a pump with a higher pressure rating.

WARNING: Off-center loads produce unnecessary strain on cylinders. Avoid point loading. Distribute the load evenly across the entire toe lift surface.

WARNING: Always use a flat, solid and firm foundation before attempting to lift a load.

CAUTION: Serious damage to equipment and per-sonal injury can result, if the support feet are not fully extended.

DANGER: To avoid personal injury keep hands and feet away from cylinder and workpiece during operation.

WARNING: Stay clear of loads supported by hy-draulics. After the load has been raised or lowered, it must always be blocked mechanically.

WARNING: Never pressurize uncoupled couplers. Only use hydraulic equipment in a cou-pled system.

CAUTION: Avoid sharp bends and kinks in the hose which may cause damage. Also, bends and kinks lead to premature hose failure.

Pag. 7

CAUTION: The operator must operate the jack from outside the area of the vehicle. The operator must be able to see both the jack and the load whenever the jack is in motion. Also ensure that there are no people or animals in the vicinity of the vehicle to be raised.

CAUTION: During lifting, the vehicle must be blocked in position using wedges or the hand-brake (the vehicle should be empty); in all cases, check the stability of the load.

CAUTION: Use of more than one jack to remove/replace more than one of the vehicle’s wheels simultaneously is forbidden.

CAUTION: Use of more than one jack to completely raise the vehicle is forbidden.

CAUTION: Use of the jack in conditions with wind speeds in excess of 31 mph is forbidden.

DANGER: Incorrect positioning of the jack may cause the raised vehicle to fall.

CAUTION: The jack must only be applied to the vehi-cle in the points indicated by the vehicle’s constructor.

CAUTION: After lifting, support the load with suitable equipment while the operator is at work.

DANGER: Lifting people is absolutely forbidden.

CAUTION: When working on the vehicle’s wheels, raise it just far enough to lift them above the ground.

OPERATION5IMPORTANT: It is mandatory that the operator has a full

understanding of all instructions, safety regulations, cautions and warnings, before starting to operate any of this high force tool equipment. In case of doubt, contact ARI-HE-TRA.

BEFORE LIFTING A LOAD5.1

The cylinder must be securely attached in the toe lift base. Keep the contact surface between the toe lift and the loadclean. The contact surface must be free of oil and grease to avoid the load slipping off. Before lifting a load make sure that the contact surface of the toe lift completely support the load to avoid bending ofthe toe.The chains with the lock pins must always bepositioned in the support feet before lifting to avoidthe support feet from accidentally be moved duringlifting.

ADVANCING AND RETRACTING THE JACKS5.2

Check that the valve of descent of the hoist (pos. 2 fig. 3/1) is closed by rotating it clockwise.IMPORTANT: To adjust the lowering speed of the load,

Very slowly open the valve of descent of the hoist by turning counterclockwise.

For complete operating instructions also refer to those of the control unit or pump.

HandpumpsOn handpumps with release valves, close relief valve and raise and lower the pump handle to advance the jack. To retract the jack, open the release valve. On handpumps with two position valves, shift valve to advance position and raise and lower the pump handle to advance. To retract, shift the valve to the retract position.

Pag. 9

AIR REMOVAL5.3

Advance and retract the jack several times avoiding pres-sure build-up. Air removal is complete when the jack motion is smooth.

MAINTENANCE6Maintenance is required when wear or leakage is noticed. Periodically inspect all components to detect any problem requiring service and maintenance. ARI-HETRA offers re-ady-to-use spare parts kits for repair and/or replacements. Contact ARI-HETRA.

IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must only be serviced by a qualified hydraulic tech-nician. For repair service, contact the Authorized ARI-HETRA Service Center in your area.

All maintenance must be carried out with the group lift cylinder fully closed and the water supply disconnected.

• Periodically inspect all components to detect any problem requiring maintenance and service. Replace damaged parts immediately.

• Do not exceed oil temperature above 140°F.• Keep all hydraulic components clean.
