Greetings in the name of our brother Jesus! The Tolton Ambassadors is a group comprised of lay

persons, deacons and priests, dedicated to promoting the cause for

canonization of Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first recognizable African-

American priest in the United States. His story is one of great faith

and dedication to those he ministered to in his congregation and

community, both black and white. Fr. Tolton had a wonderful friendship

with St. Katherine Drexel while they both were working to help those

who were disenfranchised and overlooked in society. He often wrote her

letters asking not just for donations for his church but her prayers for

strength to continue is ‘God-led’ work. Fr. Tolton’s humility is one we

could all take a lesson from.

The Tolton Ambassadors of Atlanta believe in Fr. Tolton

and all he offered to not just in the Chicago area or the United States,

but the world. He is the beacon for those who do not give up when faced

with denial or adversity, a lesson he obviously learned from his parents.

We would like to encourage a member or members of your church to join

us on this quest to promote the cause for the canonization of this humble

but so deserving priest. We meet on the first Monday of each month at

the Lyke House on the campus of the Atlanta University Center ,

809 Beckwith St. SW, Atlanta, GA, at 6pm.We look forward to

your positive response and a representative

joining us very soon. We have much to share

and are anxious for your participation.

Should you have questions, please feel free

to contact us via email: [email protected]

or call , 404.229.9263.

Peace and blessings,
