PERTH CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA SUNDAY 5 TH TO THURSDAY 9 TH FEBRUARY 2012 On behalf of the Organising Committee it is our pleasure to extend an invitation to the 10th AsiaPacific Microscopy Conference (APMC10), the International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICONN 2012) and the 22 nd Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM22) to be held in Perth, Western Australia, 5th – 9th February 2012. The Event will include Short Courses, Workshops and a concurrent major Equipment Exhibition. The combined event will be the largest microscopy and nanotechnologyrelated event in Australiaʼs history. Over 2,000 delegates, from more than 30 nations, are expected to provide a unique science and technology forum. The traditional scientific programs of each Conference will be run in parallel, with some joint sessions. Delegates may attend any they choose through the single registration process. The Exhibition and social events will be fully shared, to enable our communities to network extensively. The Event is being conducted under the auspices of the Council of AsiaPacific Societies for Microscopy (CAPSM), The Australian Nanotechnology Network (ANN), the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Inc (AMMS) and the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM). ANN /ICONN are funding registrations for eligible ANN students and ECR; AMMS and IFSM have travel bursaries for microscopy students and ECR. Confirmed plenary speakers include Professor Knut Urban, Juelich, Germany, joint winner of the 2011 Wolf Prize in Physics. Professor Urban will give the inaugural “Cockayne Lecture”, Professor Frank Caruso, Melbourne, Australia , a 2010 Top 100 mostcited researcher in nanotechnology, and Zhores Alferov , Ioffe Institute, Russia, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, 2000.
