Lubrication of electric motors General The use of proper grease and re-greasing the bearings according to the instructions ensure a trouble free operation. When re-greasing: − Re-grease while the motor is running. − Clean the grease nipples. − Press correct amount of grease with correct properties into each bearing. Use a
grease gun. Never use more than the recommended amount of grease at each occasion.
− Consult the electrical motor manual or the lubrication data plate on the electric motor for selection of type of grease. Approved greases are for instance Esso Unirex N3 and SKF LGHQ3
Lubrication interval for ABB electric motors. Valid for 40 °C ambient temperature.
