For Users under 20 Years Old
◆ Please note that people with more muscle massthan normal, such as bodybuilders, will have ahigher BMI because of the heavier weight ofmuscle tissue.
Your BMI is essentially a measure of overall bodymass, based on adult height and weight. For peopleyounger than 20 years old, whose bodies are stilldeveloping, the resulting figures only show atendency (underweight, healthy weight, at risk ofoverweight, overweight), which might not beaccurate for all children and young people due toeach young person’s individual stage ofdevelopment. Therefore, it is important that parentsand children should not regard BMI resultsdisplayed for people younger than 20 years old as amedical diagnosis. If you are in doubt aboutpotential weight issues regarding you or your child, please consult a doctor.Since height changes affect BMI, make sure thatyou periodically update your height in Profile underUser Settings.
