To introduce the Report of 2009 let me take the opportunity to say goodbye to each and all of you after a long period of service to an idea and a task in

which I believed and believe fully that is the strength of the contribution and power of volunteering in our society, using the Catalonian Federation of Social Volunteering as channel.As you can see has been a year that, despite the difficulties known by all, we have not stopped even for a moment to achieve different objectives and reinforce others: our growth to service and respond to requests from federated entities, to keep in touch all of them as narrow as possible, volunteering training, information on our services and our activities ... and to position us in front of the society in general and governments in particular have been a daily constant. To place our Federation as a benchmark of volunteering in Catalonia was not easy, given that we live in a world where private information and the media fill our mail and our desks, where everyone has basic problems to solve and where sometimes we tiptoe on the issues that affect us directly. So, carrying the flag to make calls and encourage people to be volunteer is not easy. The result of the data that we show in memory 09’ is a summary of what we have done and what we are, and also the recognition to both entities and public administrations they have relied on us. After the period of eight years as President of the Federation, I am very proud of what has been done, I leave the Federation at a time of steady growth, confident that progress will continue, because there is much yet to do ... I encourage the new President and all his Consell and I wish them every success, sure to succeed with the support of a superb technical team prepared and responsible, allowing them to grow every day in quality, prestige and effectiveness. Receive my heartfelt thanks for the support given to me during many years in a way that made me very happy: this perspective civic, social, human and professional. THANKS.I would also give a very heartfelt thanks to those who are part of groups called disadvantaged or at risk of exclusion, as the examples I have learned. From them I received the most rewarding lessons of life. I hope I have put my grain of sand helping tk make a stronger Federation, more than heard, more recognized, more committed and more beloved by all.THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE.

010F rom the outset I want to thank our confidence in

me on 15 May, leaving chosen unanimously by the Annual General Meeting of the Federation. I assume this role with enthusiasm and with a clear understanding that comes up a lot of work: we are in the European Year for the Eradication of Poverty and, in 2011, we will celebrate the European Year of Volunteering. It has launched the Second Congress of Associations in Barcelona, and from the Federation we are already working through our participation in the Associations Council of Barcelona. As the FCVS, we visible to Catalonia volunteers everywhere, drawing on both our participation at international scope (IAVE-International Association of volunteer effort) and CEV (European Volunteer Centre) and at the state level (Spain Volunteers Platform). We will take active part in everything from our presence and commitment to the institutions we can assume. We will continue to convene and organize events, meet-ings, tables, seminars and everything that allows us to make visible those situations that are invisible to many people but what volunteers know well. We will meet these challenges with your complicity and the work carried out by both the technical staff and volunteers responsible for the different programs on the FCVS.It soothes me to know I’m not alone when taking decisions and I have the good fortune to have a committed and active management team.In times of need like now, we, the volunteers, are the hope, we will not change the world but we will try it should a little better. All together make it possible.

1.- Training shcoolWe have worked in 5 training areas. Basic training and personal growth has increased both in the number of issues like expanding the range of proposals. Inthe period 2009/2010 are scheduled 51 editions, so far. In the 2008/09 period19 were conducted.

• We have received € 32,055 in contributions. It represents 5,79% of FCVS income.

• 213 entities have paid 2009 membership fees.You represent a 87,17 of total entities as of December 31.

• In 2009 we awarded 9 grants.

• We have done it following the guidelines of the auditors and adjusting to the new Accountancy Plan for foundations and associations of Decree 259/2008 of the Catalonia Government.

• We have continued relying on external advice for both accounting and tax, from the same legal consultancy.

• We have recognized in the section on Government Receivables, grants and contracts for the year 2010 which were granted as of 31 December 2009 with a corresponding counterparty in the passive as Accrual Adjustments.

• In the income account there is an increase in revenues from Government Grants for Activities, mainly due to the increase in the subsidy coming directly from the state administration and new subsidies from the regional administra-tion.

• The difference in the chapter of Staff is due to the balance of salaries in the same category and to the fact that in 2008 produced vacancies that were not filled immediately.This caused also more cost of Social Security.

• There is an increase in the section on leases and royalties owed to the leasing of computer equipment hired in late 2008 and early 2009. Also the homeown-ers’ association fees this year have included extraordinary levies.

• It must be said that from 2010 the Catalonia Government will be responsible for the cost of homeowners’ works.

• During 2009, apart from renewing the credit policy, we have increased it by 38,000 €, due to delay in receipt of grants and agreements. Therefore the ac-tual policy limit is 68,000 €.

Creativity and awareness

Awareness • Action programs are invigorated from January 2010 to renew and strengthen our presence in Lleida and Tarragona. The territorial work on these two points of the network was an outstanding commitment in recent years.

• Improvements are occurring in all regional centers:

- increase in the number of testimony round tables (UTT)

- new production of awareness raising instruments (Envelat del voluntariat en la UTG)

- presence at trade fairs and open spaces, workshops and forums (4 areas)

- commitment to call for celebration of DIV (UTL)

- participation in the development of content of the VOL Magazine (4 areas)

• Awareness is entering the business world. Volunteering and Enterprise spreads the message of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and promotes corporate volunteering.

Examples of CSR companies:

Caves Berdié, with DracNet and Alter Company summon the 1th edition of 5 caves per 5 projectes Award, In which 42 projects were submitted to federated entities in 5 different areas.

Blancafort 2000 S.L.: for the donation of 15 pallets of school and office sup-plies.

RTVE: for the donation of 140 computer monitors and the agreement to ap-pear in the program “For all” (Para todos) on the public TV channel La 2 of TVE.

Musicaclick: for the award to 3 federated entities and joint collaboration with FCVS.

TMB: by the assignment of the old depot and the launch of next agreement for the distribution lost objects.

Bebealia: by the agreement to donate the strollers and chairs for young chil-dren, second-hand, to entitiy members.

Industrial Bolsera: by the agreement signed on material they will donate annu-ally and the awards they will convene between entities.

Novo Nordisk: for the study of FCVS, the agreement and assistance in imple-menting improvements.

Mango: for the widespreading of FCVS among its staff employed.

Agreement with the Resources Bank to distribute the stocks of companies.

There are also news in the line:

• For the first time we will have a stand in La Tamborinada (Belluguem-nos tots!) Organized by Fundació La Roda the next 30th of May. And a federated entity will make the workshop: AACIC. From a fun and festive side we will be in a mass audience meeting held at the Parc de la Ciutadella of Barcelona.

• We will also make aware young people making a new roaming Exhibition by Xanascat shelters aimed at young people who make the summer camps. And we will prepare a new educational game.

• The short story contest for Val la pena! Blog, devised between UT Barcelona and Comunicació, and which involved 37 volunteers participants from all ter-ritories. The winner can purchase books worth 100 euros to Abacus.

• From Voluntariat de Salut will work in a specific awareness campaign with the Banc de Donants de Sang, on voluntary blood donation. We are in the year in which Barcelona is capital of the world blood donation (June 14).

• The programs of this Line are in plan review and strengthening, as we pro-posed when starting the 2009-2011 Plan.

In training, for example, we have improved: • introductory customized trainings for corporate volunteering from 8 corpo-rate voluntary Catalan associations of Fundació La Caixa

• customized trainings to the directors of the Xanascat shelters

• technical training capsules for local councils in the province of Barcelona

• customized training for instructors of elderly nursing centers in Barcelona

Thanks to an agreement with ICASS have a new space for education (low Grassot nº 3 building)

• Advisory services start a path in Voluntariat i Empresa for which the company signed an agreement about CSR with the FCVS and it pays an annual fee for our service.

• Volunteering Information Points will sign a agreement between the entity and FCVS through which it will commit to have a public attention schedule and data updating. The FCVS is committed to training Points Information volun-teers and to care and maintenance the Online Volunteering Exchange.

• The double volunteer insurance policy since November 2010 will provide new and improved features and a modified price per insured person. We will inform you!

• Web 2.0 becomes the new instrument of communication. The scope of the instrument and the uses that will generate you could see them in the presenta-tion we do now.

• Advocacy works are targeted specially, during 2010, to the 2011 European Year of Volunteering meeting.

• We will launch a new coordination project with institutions in the prison environment.
