What is 4-H Council?

ALL GRAND COUNTY 4-H Members are members of Council and are encouraged to attend meetings, participate in

community service projects, join in the fundraising events, and of course do any fun 4-H events!

Middle Park 4-H Club News

Literature orders will be placed at the end of each month. The orders will be placed for those who have

been enrolled for the current 4-H year and have paid their dues. Email [email protected] or call (970)

724-3436 if you have questions.

You must speak to Olivia before beginning to meet in person again. When your club moves back to in-

person meetings it is vital to maintain virtual options. Providing both in-person and virtual opportunities is

how we can continue to uphold the 4-H values of safety and inclusivity.

The monthly meeting of the Middle Park 4-H Council was held Monday, April 5th, 2021 at the Extension Hall. The

meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm by President Aida Hester.

Flint Krempin led the pledges. Roll call sheet was passed around. The meeting was also held over Zoom. Sego

Krempin read the minutes. Mack Moyer moved, Blaire Hester seconded, the motion passed to approve the minutes.

The March Treasurer’s report was tabled to the next meeting. Foster Krempin moved, Mack Moyer seconded, the

motion passed to table the Treasurer’s report to the next meeting.

Old business: We are going to do the food drive at two places, one going to be in person and one is going to be a

box. Aida is going to call Big Shooter’s and The Merc. Food drive will benefit Mountain Family Center. Blaire, Mack

and Joslyn Sanders will do advertising. We will do it in May. Aida sent a letter to the thrift store asking for donation we

have not yet heard a response. We might do the shooting competition, Carson and Foster are going to get the plaice

in order if they can. Julie and Tish are getting the bingo night if we can do that. We would like to book it for October.

New Business: trip assistance for District Retreat the people that filled forms out get it paid for. Sego Krempin moved,

Chase Fosha seconded it the motion passed to approve to give trip assistance to the people that filled out the form.

Julie Sanders volunteered to use her Costco cards and shop, so council can save its money by not buying a card. The

Fosha’s also said council could use their wholesale account. Foster said he would call ACE in Granby to see if they

would do a round up to benefit 4-H in August. Justin was looking for volunteers to help with Summer camp, it could be

community service. Christy Horn asked if Council would like to contribute $250.00 for the sale pictures. It was tabled,

and will be decided next month. Sale committee will have meeting Sunday April 18th, 1pm Grand Old West.

Announcements: Please collect recipes for the Grand Animals cookbook, deadline is April 15th. Fair book Ads due

May 1st.

A Note From Justin:

"It is estimated that there are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 (ten quintillion) insects living on the

planet at any time."

Message From Olivia:

"Dromedary camels, brumbies/horses, donkeys rabbits, domestic cats, red fox, pigs, goats, deer and

water buffalo are a few of the species of animals that run feral in Australia. All of these animals have

significant environmental impacts on the continent, they pose a threat to native animals and plants."
