Message from the President: Greetings, as we are all becoming busier moving toward the conclusion of a very successful year, please don’t forget how important you are to your athletes. For all of you that have completed your seasons, congratulations. For those of you in the middle of your season I hope you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. When you are making plans for next year, don’t forget the WCA Summer Clinic, July 26-28. The Board of Directors has been working diligently to put together a wonderful clinic. Please plan on attending and enjoy the fellowship with your colleagues and friends. Our goal this year is to have 450 coaches attend this year’s clinic. Make your reservations soon at the Parkway Plaza. Always in Athletics, Mark Campbell, Casper WCA President Online voting for COTY As of April 1, 2007 members will be able to vote for COTY online. It takes only few seconds. Our hope is that more coaches will take advantage of this new service. A special thanks needs to go out to Ted Schroeder of Rock Springs for administering this service. Congratulations to the following coaches for being nominated for National Coach of the Year. 1.) Eddie Clark- Afton- Wrestling 2.) Tim Denisson- Cheyenne- Boys Soccer 3.) Sandy Jebens- Rawlins- Volleyball 4.) Todd Quigley- Newcastle- Swimming 5.) Norm Sedig- Cody- Tennis They will be given their award at the NHSACA banquet on June 29 th in Milwaukee, WI. The national winners will be announced at that time. Our region includes: WY, MT, ID, WA,OR, and Alaska. Good Luck Coaches! Summer Newsletter Deadline The deadline for the summer newsletter is June 30 th . Reminder that coaches in boys and girls basketball, wrestling, indoor track and field, swimming, and gymnastics or any other coach that is not a member, needs to join the Association in order for their athletes to receive any post season accolades. 1. The University of Wyoming will commit 100 tickets for each HOME football game and 50 for each HOME basketball game to members of the Wyoming Coaches Association. Active and Lifetime members will be eligible for the “Cowboy and or Cowgirl” tickets.

2. Members can make all ticket requests through the University of Wyoming

Ticket Office at 1-800-922-9461. The tickets will be offered on a “first come first serve basis”. The football tickets must be reserved by 12:00 noon on Thursday and the basketball tickets by 12:00 noon the day before the game. Wyoming Coaches Association members will be allowed one ticket for themselves and one ticket for a guest. Coaches may also purchase additional tickets at the regular price at that time.

3. The ticket/tickets will be picked up on the day of the contest at a

designated gate. Each member will be required to present his/her Wyoming Coaches Association membership card or Lifetime membership card along with a pictured I.D. to have the ticket/tickets issued as well. The guest will also need to present a pictured I.D. There will be no exception to this policy!

4. The Wyoming Coaches Association and the University of Wyoming

expect you to attend the game you have reserved the ticket/tickets for. You may cancel the complimentary ticket/tickets so that other coaches may be added to the list. The additional ticket/tickets that you have purchased will fall under the University of Wyoming’s Refund Policy. Please call the University of Wyoming Ticket Office (1800-922-9461) to have your name removed from the complimentary list.

5. If you reserve a ticket and or tickets but fail to attend the game you

committed to for the second time, you will lose this privilege for the balance of the membership year.

Lost Your Membership Card?

If you have lost your Coaches Association Membership card, you may get another one for a fee of $5. Contact Steve Mischke.

If you are not a present member of the WCA, contact Steve Mischke to get a

break on the price of membership. It will increase in November.

This will be the first annual Community Service Award to be presented by the Wyoming Coaches Association. This award is for those individuals that have contributed to the athletes or to local athletics. Any WCA member may nominate someone from his/her local area.
