With warmer weather the remodel at Yarmag New Testament Baptist Church has gotten under full swing. We have been so blessed with what God has provided for the work here in Mongolia. Since 2007 four additional churches have been established. Each one of these five churches have their own building. Two of those buildings were built from the ground up and three were buildings that we remodeled. During all of these projects we have not had any serious injury, until this month. Pictured above is the third floor of our building. The last week of March the men removed the flooring and subfloor in order to add more floor joists. Brother Erdenebayar and his wife Davaama take care of the building and live in the second floor apartment just below this area. Sister Davaama was over 8 months pregnant with their fifth child when she came up to the third floor to get money to buy food for the men’s lunch. Davaama has lived in a ger (round tent) all of her life and had no understanding of how a building is constructed. She did not know, that with the flooring removed, you could only walk across the room by stepping on the floor joists. She immediately stepped onto the thin ceiling of the second floor and fell all the way through to the floor below. They took her directly to the trauma hospital where she and the baby were examined. It was determined that the baby was uninjured but Davaama had crushed her heel and had a back injury. With the baby so close to delivery they could not give Davaama the pain medicine she needed. After three days in the hospital the doctors decided to deliver her baby by c-section. The Erdenebayar family now had their fourth boy, named Hananiah. The name means- grace; mercy; gift of the Lord. Everyone truly believes that Hananiah is a gift from the Lord. This could have been so much worse. Just inches from where she fell was the corner post of the 2nd floor stairs. If she had landed on top of that we would surely be writing a different report. We are praising God that Davaama’s back is better and they believe her heel will fully recover. In March they added two more members by baptism. This makes 10 baptisms since January. Praise God for the witnessing that these people are doing for the Lord. This is a picture of the young men attending Tuesday night Bible Studies. Most of these young men have shown an interest in being teachers and are attending to prepare themselves. Two of these have already announced their call and desire to pastor one of the Lord’s churches. When they are ready we have areas in Mongolia for them to serve. One is in need of salvation.
