Science changes to Social Studies! We will start out by looking at different kinds of maps! Then we will learn about how our country started. We will even be making a classroom constitution. We will also start learning about different wonders of America. We will start with the Statue of Liberty.

Christlight: This month in our Bible stories we will be covering from The Good Samaritan until The Pharisee and the Tax Collector. We will be learning Bible Passages and songs that correspond to the story being taught. Use the Binders to read through to stories at home. Reading: In Reading we will be taking on three more letters! Hh, Uu, and Bb. They will start learning to combine the sounds into words. Our word wall has grown with the more letters learned. I

also started Daily 5 which is a program to help your children become great

readers! The eight grades have been coming down once a week to read with the students. I am adding another part

to the program call work on words. During this time they will spend more

time working with letters to make words.

Math: This month we are concentrating on money and patterns. We will continue to

work with pennies and start to work with dimes. Try to

practice counting pennies and dimes at home to or even in

the grocery store. The grocery store is a great place

to practice working with money. You can have your child count out the pennies

you need for the exact change, if you have it.

Notice: On January 16, the staff has a Curriculum Study at MLC. There will be no school.

Please look at the book orders with your child. You can buy books through me or online. There is a code on the top of each book order handed out that will help you with the online ordering.

The Kindergarteners can read the book Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathman! Get it from the library and be wowed!
