company profile

coopculture in 2013 2013 has witnessed important changes on several fronts:

In technology

Since the autumn of this year, buying a ticket or services to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill is now even easier and faster. CoopCulture and Electa have developed an App that can be downloaded via an qr code for the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome; this App allows you to buy tickets and services in real time on the day of the visit. With a simple click you can purchase service directly from your mobile phone while you are queuing. When you receive confirmation of the transaction and the e-ticket on your smart phone, you can go directly to the dedicated entrance. The application is available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, RIM Blackberry platform and Apple Passbook.

On the road to enhancement of cross-culturalism

In line with what was achieved in previous years, CoopCulture has dedicated two important projects to cross-cultural aspects:

Roma Caput Mundi - A journey into the past to rediscover the origins of integrationTracing the historical tradition of the city - created following the Romulus asylum as the first example of a centre which welcomed different populations, up to the Constitutio Antoniniana fundamental act with which Caracalla granted citizenship to all the inhabitants of the empire - the aim of the project was to weave ancient and modern threads to define a timeless pattern in which the protagonists are all the populations that have come into contact with Roman culture. In collaboration with: University of Roma Tre CREIFOS, University for Foreigners of Siena, Idos Study and Research Centre,, Scuolemigranti.Over 800 foreigners from 20 countries were involved in the project.

Constantine. Cross-culture and interfaithThe project, which is connected to the exhibition on Constantine hosted inside the Colosseum, followed in the steps along the pathway which began with the Roma Caput Mundi Exhibition. It latched on to the theme of integration and particolare sulla religione come luogo di confronto costruttivo e di un sentire

dialogue among different cultures and expanded it by extending it to different religions. The project involved the construction of a parallel journey between the complex and articulated historical background of ancient society in the early IV century A.D. and the current situation , just as volatile and varied, focusing in particular on religion as a centre which can achieve constructive dialogue and a common feeling. The project also involved visits to the locations, a training campus dedicated to teachers and educators. In collaboration with: University of Roma Tre CREIFOS, Caritas Intercultural, Scuolemigranti, Tavolo Interreligioso di Roma, Museo Nazionale d'Arte Orientale "Giuseppe Tucci" in Rome, the Bardo Museum in Tunis.

Programme and contents

Innovation moves along two fundamental trails, the extension of the target recipients of the offer and the identification of the fundamental topics. The 2013/2014 catalogue, which is in fact the result of the above, is no longer targeted at schools alone, and is structured as follows:> CULTURE for Italy, containing the didactic offer structured by region and within each Region/City by topic. The topics now offered are INTER CULTURE (interculture and rights); CULTURE OF TERRITORIES (cultural and natural resources, tangible and intangible, local produce, etc.)., CONTEMPORARY CULTURE (the different expressions of contemporary aspects); SECRETS OF CULTURE (visits and itineraries off the usual beaten track). Each activity has special icons to indicated the target recipients (schools of different levels, families, children, adults);> CULTURE Community contains the special projects and loyalty programme.
