his year's Moto GP had two moreAmericans joining; Nicky Hayden withBen Spies and Colin Edwards racing

for Monster Yamaha Tech 3. Spies andDucati's Hayden put on a great show Satur-day qualifying on the front row with Spiestaking his first pole in Moto GP. Race daywas a hot humid day, almost a repeat of theIndy 500 in May.

The Moto 2 race had forty bikes qualifyso something was bound to happen as theyswept thru the first tum then eight bikes wentdown trying to get through tum two. The racehad to be red flagged and the crashed bikeswere ailowed to make repairs. The bikes werefixed and a restarl had Tony Elias taking thelead, then going on to win ahead of JulianSimon.

Track temperatures were steadily risingas the Moto GP started in the late afternoonheat. Last year's winner Jorge Lorenzo startedbetween Spies and Hayden. Ben Spies madethe Americans proud as he grabbed the earlylead and held it until lap seven when Dani Pe-drosa passed him on the front straight. Pe-
