The objective of this new junior and senior project is to get you involved in the community -- really involved.

Think about places that may interest you in your job search for the future and/or what may help you decide on a course of study while at college.

Volunteer Service Project

Unfortunately, church activities will NOT be included; we want you to go beyond your scope of normal community activities.

Internships will apply to this service project.

What Counts?

What is it that you really enjoy? Do you love art? How about an internship

at a local art gallery? Want to become an entrepreneur? Get

involved with a small business in our area! Love doing hair? Figure out a way to get

involved in a legitimate business that involves hair care, sell of hair products, or any salons providing hair service.

Ask Yourself:

Research, email, call, or go by and ask! Volunteering will not come to you; you must find a place that fits your independent needs.

You DO NOT have time to WASTE!!!

How do you get involved?

 SERVICE/LOG: ◦ 30 hours of Service learning at a teacher approved site. You must have a daily/hourly log of activities signed by service learning supervisor on day of service hours.

What are the requirements?

  REFLECTION: A two-page typed reflection of your

experience.

◦ Why did you choose the service area you chose? ◦ What skills did you acquire that will help you in your

future while at college or in your career path? ◦ If you thought you wanted to rescue wild horses, and you

decided to work as a barn hand great. However, after 30 hours of service you realized that horses were neither fulfilling nor helpful to you in your future explain why.

◦ Will you be interested in pursuing this field while at college?

The reflection must be double spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman, and must be grammatically, mechanically, and stylistically flawless.

What are the requirements?

  PRODUCT: 10 page (minimum)

binder/scrapbook of artifacts from your experience (photos, video, music, or any other products)

PRESENTATION: There will be a 4-6 minute presentation after school to a board of teachers and community members of your experience including your organizations impact on the community, and what you gained by volunteering there.

to making the chaining of dogs a thing of the past. We work toward this goal by:

Application Process CMC volunteer application process consists of you attending a pre-

application meeting. The pre-application meeting is roughly 45 minutes long and we discuss the volunteer program, the process, what you can expect and give you information on volunteering in the hospital setting. At the end of this meeting, we hand out applications.

The application requires two non-family member references, a background verification disclosure (we do check your background) and a health history form (require proof of MMR immunizations). Once all this information is in to us, we will call you for an interview.

Junior Volunteers Home / Giving / Volunteer Opportunities / Junior Volunteers The Junior Volunteer program offers an opportunity for teens to learn about

healthcare by assisting staff, visitors and patients with non-medical tasks. Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision and work

independently. They should exhibit interest and enthusiasm. We are looking for students who can make a dependable commitment of one
