thought evolved to have a self propelled train set for
accident cum medical relief.
Salient features:
It is a twin car formation of one Driving power car and
one Driving trailer car.
It can have bi-directional movement.
Driving power car has Diesel Hydraulic transmission
system with under-slung power pack.

Captive power in the form DG set for total load with
A/C.
HS SPART
The old version of SPART has low speed and
maintenance problems.
These are overcome with new design of High Speed
SPART.
Railway Board decided to have at least one SPART at
each division for emergency response and ordered 41
rakes in I phase.
Around 35 HS SPART rakes have been furnished and
dispatched till now.
1st rake in 2010 with ZF hyd transmission and from 2nd
onwards ICF uses VOITH hydraulic transmission.
It is 3 car formation.
SV DPC – Supervisory Van Driving Power Car
MV/TC – Medical Van Trailer Car
TV DPC – Tool Van Driving Power Car
Max speed 120 kmph.
Supervisory Van has 22 berths for staff.
Salient features: Corten steel coach body with straight side wall for
DPCs and conventional type curved body for Medical
van.
Driver cab at both ends of formation, Driver desk with
FRP top.
Both DPCs powered by under slung power pack of 430
hp NTA 14 R Cummins make engine coupled with
VOITH hydrodynamic transmission.
Power pack mounted on skid for easy maintenance.
Cardan shaft from the power output side of Hyd
transmission drives axle mounted drive unit. Trailing
axle of one bogie mounted with the reduction gear
drive. Reverser unit also mounted on the axle drive.
Radiator cooled by electric motors is mounted on the
coach roof.
125 kVA DG set provided in both the DPCs for
powering auxiliaries viz. Radiator fan, battery charging,
lights, fans and for emergency flood light for sight
requirement.
TV DPC contains equipment viz. jacks, re-railing
hydraulic equipment, hydraulic hoses, oxy-acetylene
gas cylinders & cutting equipment etc., and is also
