Multi-channel capture

Business critical information can arrive at your company though a variety of channels such as mail, files, email attachments. IRISPowerscan™ 10 offers a single solution to address any of those: it supports most popular scanners (Canon®, Kodak, Fujitsu®, etc.); documents can be captured via an MFP and imported automatically using IRISPowerscan™’s watched folder feature; it can even import documents from Cloud services such as Box, Dropbox, OneDrive or SharePoint.

Powerful image adjustment tools help improve the quality of images by adjusting, contrast and brightness straightening skewed scans, removing unwanted pixels, splitting or merging images, and many more.

Advanced classification

IRISPowerscan™ 10 is able to scan any document type, including invoices*. Of course, different docu-ments require specific processing; for instance, the indexes required from a transport document are not the same as the ones you need from an invoice. This is why once documents have been scanned or imported, the first step is to determine their type so they can be processed accordingly. IRISPowerscan™ 10 uses a variety of techniques to perform automatic classification of your incoming documents, such as barcodes, patch codes, OCR/ICR zones, and more.

IRISPowerscan™ 10 even features a powerful layout recognition technology known as IRISFingerprint™, which is able to learn the appearance of your various documents and perform identification without the need for text, labels, barcodes or any other conventional method.

High-accuracy indexing

Now that documents have been identified, IRISPowerscan™ 10 proceeds to extract the key information you need from them. A variety of recognition technologies are used to address any type of index you need: OCR, ICR, barcodes, patch codes, and more.

For instance, a contract might contain information such as company names, contract number, signatory names, amounts, and more; an invoice* may need its line items indexed on top of typical accounting information, etc.

IRISPowerscan™ 10 prompts the user with a series of tools and techniques to make sure their validation job is carried out as fast and easy as possible, such as drag&drop OCR, keyboard shortcuts, auto-zooming, etc.

IRISPowerscan™ 10 is equipped with the latest generation of IRIS’s award-winning OCR engine and is able to recognize text in over 130 languages. Once the full page has been recognized, the input document can be converted to a variety of formats in order to best suit your business requirements, such as PDF, PDF/A, hyper-compressed PDF or PDF/A, XPS, TXT, RTF, DOC, OpenDocument text, HTML, XML, WordML, SpreadsheetML, TIFF single or multi-page, BMP, JPEG, JPEG2000, PDF image, and more.

Export: a single, customizable connection platform

IRISPowerscan™ 10 includes IRIS’ extensive range of connection options allowing you to export captured content into your business critical workflow, such as your document folders, email, printers, third-party applications (Alfresco, Documentum, Sage, SharePoint, Therefore, FileNet, WorkSite, OpenText, IRISNext™, EBP, SAP, MS Dynamics, Oracle Financials, and more) or Cloud service (Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Evernote, Therefore Online).
