MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF JULY 18, 2013 Place of meeting: Hilton Cyprus, The Pergola

Attendance: Meeting average: 24 % (11 club members attended)

Communication of apologies and make ups: At the e-mail address of Sec Nazo Davidian.

President’s Announcements: P Loucas informed the sad news that PP Marianna Trokoudes mother has

passed away. Following PP Marianna’s wish, all donations have been given

for the support of the Scholarship Fund. A total of € 935 was collected.

During the Scholarship Foundation committee meeting which took place this

afternoon, it has been noted that the Foundation’s money invested in

debentures has lost its total value.

The DG Jamil Mouawad, D2452, will visit our club on the 13th of January 2014.

The changeover of our Rotaract Club took place on July 10th in the presence of

IPDG Kevork Mahdessian, PP Caterina Kalavas and P Loucas.

The forthcoming meetings of July and August will be with drinks at the Hilton

Cyprus Fontana Pergola.

IPDG’s Announcements:

IPDG Kevork described his experience of the DG changeover ceremony in

Lebanon where 700 Rotarians were present and $ 100,000 was collected for

humanitarian purposes.

During his governance, 3 new Rotary Clubs, 8 Rotaract Clubs, 11 Interact

Clubs and 14 ICCs have been created and 210 PHFs were distributed.

IPDG Kevork congratulated PTRF Nazo Davidian for having successfully

concluded the Sotk Water Project in Armenia and for his commendable

presence on behalf of our club during its opening ceremony.

A letter of appreciation should be sent to IPP Narine Karinyan of the RC of

Yerevan for her excellent cooperation with our club for securing the Matching

Grant for the above project.

PTRF Director Nazo has done a brief description of the project, his

attendance at the RC of Yerevan and his overall experience of travelling to

Sotk village, the opening ceremony and the hospitality offered to him by the

mayor and the villagers.

Other Announcements

On the 12th of July, during the DDG changeover ceremony, PP Biland Sadek

has been awarded for his dedicated work for the preparation of the District

magazine.

Forthcoming Events Thursday 25/7: Meeting and Club assembly with Drinks, Hilton Hotel, 7:00 pm, the Fontana Pergola (outdoors)

The lucky winner of the raffle was Amal Khoury who won a bottle of wine courtesy of the Hilton Hotel. There were no birthdays to celebrate.
