“I’m excited to let you know that this October will see the return of my Friday Night Kitchen, a live culinary experience complete with fantastic entertainment in front of an audience of 400 guests at Aston Villa Football Club.

Following the success of last year’s event, I’ll be inviting a few of my celebrity friends to join me on stage to share plenty of stories and laughs, as I prepare four specially designed courses for you to enjoy.

With plenty of food, drink and entertainment until the early hours, including a live set from The Subterraneans, it’ll be a Friday night to remember.

All proceeds from the evening will go to Cure Leukaemia, a Birmingham-based charity that I’m proud to support as a Trustee. Other than a raffle with one special prize to look out for, we won’t be holding any additional fundraising on the night, that’s all covered in your ticket price.

GREGG WALLACE EVENT HOST

Gregg Wallace is a writer, media personality and former greengrocer. Best known for co-presenting MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals on BBC1 & BBC 2, he has charmed the nation with his warm personality and passion for food.

Before Gregg rose to fame, he began his career in a Covent Garden fruit and veg market. In 1989, he started George Allan’s Greengrocers, a company that built up to an impressive £7.5 million turnover.

On the back of his business success, he was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 with Charlie Hicks. Gregg had a natural flair for radio and this transcended to television when he became the original presenter of Saturday Kitchen in 2002.

His TV career went from strength to strength, joining Masterchef in 2005 where he has been a permanent judge on the show ever since, including Celebrity Masterchef and Professional Masterchef. The Masterchef brand continues to be one of the BBC’s most successful formats.Other TV projects include: Eat Well for Less, Turn back Time, Harvest, Supermarket Secrets and Who Do You Think You Are?

THE SUBTERRANEANS

Over a seventeen year life span The Subs’ have not only built a reputation as one of the best covers band around they have also backed some of the most influential artists of the modern age, including cult punk queen Hazel O’Connor who the band toured and recorded with for over 10 years.

Other artists The Subs’ have backed include.... Toyah Willcox, Carol Decker (T’Pau), Pauline Black (The Selecter), Ranking Roger (The Beat), and Neville Staples (The Specials) to name but a few, performing at many of the largest venues in the UK from Glastonbury Festival to the LG Arena.

Throughout the last fourteen years the band has also held a residency at one of Birmingham’s best live music venues, “The Jam House”, played at many of the countries largest sporting events and performed at several celebrity weddings.

Look out for The Subs’ live show; it’s big, lively, with amazing sound production from Grammy Award winning record producer Roger Lomas.

RUSS MORRIS

Broadcasting for seventeen years, Russ Morris is one of the UK’s most successful radio personalities.Russ’ radio career began in North Wales, presenting his first show at the tender age of seventeen. Since then he has broadcast on some of the UK’s biggest radio stations in Stoke on Trent, Cardiff and London.

In 2005, Russ arrived in Birmingham where he became one of the city’s brightest stars. In almost nine years Russ presented every show on Brmb/Free Radio, but became famous for presenting the mid morning show for five years. Russ is no stranger to the stars. From JLS to Paul Weller, Girls Aloud to Amy Winehouse, Russ has interviewed some of the biggest names in music: he was one of the first to speak to Victoria Beckham about her solo career and chatted exclusively to Robbie Williams about the Take That reunion.

If there is a live event in the West Midlands, chances are Russ will be hosting it. He regularly hosts some of the Midlands biggest events ranging from award ceremonies at the ICC through to huge music concerts at the LG arena, where recently he hosted ‘Free Radio Live’ to over 14,000 people. In 2012, Russ also hosted the Team Jamaica Welcome Dinner at the University of Birmingham where he presented to Usain Bolt and the city’s dignitaries.

No stranger to big audiences, Russ hosts every Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion home game, getting thousands of fans ready for the match. In May 2014 Russ was delighted to join Heart to present on their North West service, where he presents the 4-7 Drivetime show.
