    Step 2: Visit the "Get Started" page under the Extended Learning website for step-by-step instructions on how to register using MyPortal or EduNav.

    After completing the free application to one of the colleges through CCC Apply,you must wait 1 to 2 business days to receive your official welcome email withyour MyPortal login information. The email will contain your RCCD student IDnumber, which is needed to login to your MyPortal account. All students registerfor both noncredit and credit courses in MyPortal or EduNav. Students that applyto one college, can take classes at all three colleges in the Riverside CommunityCollege District. Please apply at least 3 weeks before the class starts.

    Information Systems: Cyber-Skills

    The Cyber-Skills Certificate will focus on cybersecurity areas of knowledge needed to enhancecurrent IT skills for those already employed in the IT field or assist with developing cyber-skills forthose exploring this as a career path. The courses will explore the tools that are used regularlywithin the field.

    Topics covered will include exploration of the field of cybersecurity, data confidentiality, integrityand availability and best practices for Internet use and social media safety. The student will beexposed to the use of virtualization software which is used extensively throughout cybersecurityand IT careers in general. Protocol analysis will be covered using tools such as Wireshark todemonstrate how to capture and analyze network traffic for cybersecurity incident response andfor network troubleshooting.

    Financial Literacy

    The Financial Literacy Certificate of Completion provides students with an introduction to theprinciples of finance with an emphasis on personal finance. Students will learn general personalfinancial management skills, including developing realistic financial goals and methods forcreating a plan to meet those goals.     Noncredit Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    What are noncredit courses?Noncredit courses are designed for students interested in pursing personal, professional oracademic goals. Noncredit courses focus on helping students build specific skills that arenecessary for reaching their individual goals. All courses are taught by college faculty.

    Who can take noncredit courses?Any community member 18 years or older can take noncredit courses. Those under 18 mustcomplete a concurrent enrollment form and return it to the college’s Admissions and Recordsoffice. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

    How much does it cost to enroll in a noncredit course?All noncredit courses are tuition-free, though students may have to pay for books.  All studentsthat park on campus must purchase a parking pass. Since noncredit courses are tuition-free,financial aid is not available for these courses.

    How long will it take to earn a certificate?The time it takes to complete a certificate varies. Visit the Courses and Certificates pages on theExtended Learning website to learn more.     The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an initiative sponsored by the InternalRevenue Service. This course is intended to provide students with the opportunity to serve lowto moderate-income taxpayers, which the IRS has defined for the scope of the program asthose individuals and families making less than $54,000 per year. This course will teachstudents in income tax preparation, prepare students to apply for IRS VITA certification, inorder to work with individuals and families with limited incomes to prepare tax returns -enabling them to receive proper tax credits and refunds.
