Description
In June 1997 YLE, the Finnish broadcaster, started a DVB-S compliant satellite service w ith comprehensive European coverage via the Intelsat 707 satellite in position 1° West. The content consists of the TV-Finland channel, assembled from three domestic terrestrial channels namely YLE 1, YLE 2, MTV 3 and tw o radio programs. -- Terrestrial DVB-T transmissions w ill be on the air in October 1997 w ith one transmitter. A second transmitter, completing a mini-single frequency netw ork (SFN), w ill start by the beginning of 1998. The multiplex w ill be a simulcast of four existing national programmes.
