Alberto worked for top banks in London and Melbourne as an architect for the high performance computing systems that calculate profit and risk of derivative financial products. Equally at home between fellow nerds and normal humans, he enjoys learning about complex topics and explaining them in terms that everyone understands, should they be interested in the nuances of non-traditional computational topologies. As Lead Architect, Alberto strives to translate the developments of technology into disruptive innovation.

Pedro designs bespoke solutions that combine expert knowledge of decision makers with data insights extracted by AI and ML algorithms. He is an Industry Expert to the MSc in Business Analytics of CASS Business School and teaches at Imperial College Business School. Pedro holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from Imperial College London and BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from Universidade Nova. His research work focused on studying properties of large networks as autonomous management of distributed systems.

Boutique Blockchain Consultancy in the Netherlands that works with ING, PwC, Deloitte, EY and other big corps there. Built LAB15's technology team and coordinated the first Blockchain architecture for Proof of Concepts and Pilots with these companies.

Coordinating the tech side of a spin off targeted at the Classic car market. The solution was a consortium Blockchain with Porsche and some supply chain participants, such as parts OEMs, an insurance company and a certification authority. Further plans exist to extend to other car OEMs, first within the VW group and then beyond it.

Automated Trend Following Strategy. Developed an algorithm based on Digital Signal Processing techniques to detect the direction of liquid future markets on multiple asset classes. Implemented algorithm in C++ and integrated with internal execution platform.

Portfolio Risk Concentration Analysis. Devised a new methodology to analyse the concentration of multi-asset portfolios using Principal ComponentAnalysis. Created a fragility indicator to prevent drawdowns of long-only portfolios.

Automated Information Retrieval. Designed and implemented a methodology that uses Natural Language Processing algorithms to automatically extract information regarding location, price and entities involved in Real Estate transactions.

Intraday Trend-Following System. Designed, implemented and deployed a system to generate intraday trend following signals on liquid future commodity markets. Integrated with Bloomberg Data License API for collection of intraday quote data.

Risk Simulation Framework. Designed a methodology to simulate asset returns using multivariate nonnormal distributions based on intuitive inputs from fund managers. Implemented methodology in VBA in order to integrate with existing spreadsheet for analysis.

Financial Markets Monitor System. Designed, implemented and deployed a three-tier system to store, analyse and visualise insights and investment signals extracted from multiple types of financial data (e.g. economic data, prices, volatility, flow, sentiment). Integrated system with multiple data sources (e.g. Bloomberg Data License).

Coordinating all the technologic and strategic aspects of a spin off created by a global Investment Fund in the Logistics sector. TechHQ created a deployed a Consortium Blockchain solution that disrupt traditional Letters of Credit.

Being the development team for a large IoT provider in the Smart Buildings sector. Implementing Smart Contract managed SLAs between building owners and service providers.

Being the development team for a Startup that is rolling out a smart procurement solution for Food Retailers, which allows them to have visibility and accountability in their relationships with Suppliers.
