We now need a host/ess for July - this could be the usual Coffee Morning or an afternooncup of tea or evening glass of wine with a quiz on any date to suit the host. Please let meknow before the July magazine deadline - 18th June - if you can help.

The next PCC meeting will be held in school on 26th May - any developments will betherefore be reported in the July magazine.

We recently attended the Durham City and District Scouts' Cub Centenary service atDurham Cathedral during which the Bishop of Durham exchanged his bicycle for runningshoes, (or so it seemed), as he delivered a very inter-active, child friendly sermon runningthe full length of the nave on several occasions to speak to children in the congregation. Atthe end of the service everyone sang the National Anthem. Of course everyone knows thefirst verse, most of us stumble through the second, but I confess I knew not a word of thethird - the words and sentiments struck me as being as relevant in our 21* century world aswhen first written around 270 ago. 5o, as rare celebrate our Queen's birthday perhaps youmight like to read the generally accepted full version of the Anthem?

God save our gracious Queen,Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen,Send her victorious, happy and glorious,Long to reign over us, God save the Queen.

Thy choicest gifts in store,On her be pleased to pour, Long may she reign.May she defend our laws, and ever give us cause,To sing with heart and voice, God save the eueen.

Not in this land alone,But be God's mercies known, from shore to shore,Lord make the nations see, that men should brothers be,And form one family, God save us all!

With best wishes,
