Motivational : From "Tripura" To "Rio"
An Indian girl performing the Death Vault was not only
surprising for Indians but also raised the expectation of
medal in Rio Olympics. After having failed to secure a medal,
she won billions heart. Not only Indians but everyone, who
have seen her performing, praised her.
By qualifying in Olympics 2016 Dipa Karmakar proved that
one can achieve anything - possible or impossible - if one has
clarity in his/her vision and has complete devotion towards
his/her dreams.
The 22 year old girl - Dipa inked her name with golden ink in
India's history by becoming the first Indian woman gymnast
to qualify for the Rio Olympics till date. Becoming the first
Indian female gymnast to qualify for the quadrennial event is
not an achievement to be taken lightly and when you
perform against all odds, the success tastes much sweeter.
The one word that symbolises Dipa Karmakar is 'Pliable'!
Born in Tripura in 1993, Karmakar found her entry into
gymnastics fraught with difficulties. She was born with flat
feet, considered extremely disadvantageous for a budding
gymnast, and she was trying to excel in a sport which many
Indians had not even heard of.
Many times it became difficult to continue for her dreams,
but, Karmakar never let her difficulties get to her. Gradually,
started setting new records – first at the national level in
2011, then a bronze at the Commonwealth Games in 2014
and a fourth-place finish at the Asian Games in 2015.
With a fifth place finish at the World Championships in 2015,
Karmakar had already become the torchbearer of Indian
gymnastics. But despite her incredible success, realising the
dream – the Olympics – seemed out of reach. But she is a
winner, not looser. You should also ruminate about what do
you want to become? Which choice do you have to choose?
Ironically, Karmakar is one of the few women in the world
who have successfully performed a Produnova vault,
considered one of the toughest vaults in the gymnastics
world. However, despite her mastery over that particular
move, her performances in the other categories had kept her
outside a podium finish at the World Championships, keeping
her out of the Olympics. But Dipa worked hard, appeared in
the test and subsequently got selected in the final list!
At the 79th position among individual qualifiers was the
name of Dipa Karmakar. And with that, the diminutive 22-
year old from Tripura had boldly gone where few had
treaded – the
first Indian
woman gymnast
to qualify for an
Olympics, and
the first gymnast
from India since
an all-male six-
member team
participated in the quadrennial extravaganza in 1964. And
hence she put a full stop to the 52 years long journey of India
in Gymnastics at Olympics!
Selection of Dipa Karmakar is a reminder that India can
produce champions in each and every field! Yes! We can do
what we think of!
So what are you waiting for? Just go on! Be the Dipa
Karmakar of your field!
"Its never too late. If you have not started yet, start now!"

Lok Sabha unanimously passes GST
Bill
The Lok Sabha has unanimously passed the 122nd
Constitutional
Amendment
Bill as amended
by the Rajya
Sabha with all
443 members
voting in favour
and this will
now be sent to
state assemblies for approval after the President approves it.
The Bill was passed by Lok Sabha and transmitted to Rajya
Sabha for concurrence. Rajya Sabha passed the Bill with
amendments at its sitting held on the August 3, 2016 and
returned it to Lok Sabha.
Let discuss this in Brief:
What is Goods and Services Tax (GST)?
a) As the name suggests, it is a tax levied when a consumer
buys a good or service. It is meant to be a single,
comprehensive tax that will subsume all the other smaller
indirect taxes on consumption like service tax, excise duty
etc.
b) It will be a comprehensive nationwide indirect tax on the
manufacture, sale, and consumption of goods and services.
The aim is to have one indirect tax for the whole nation,
which will make India a unified common market.
What all will it subsume?
At the central level, the following taxes will be subsumed:
Central Excise Duty, Additional Excise Duty, Service Tax,
Countervailing Duty (Additional Customs Duty), and Special
Additional Duty of Customs.
At the State level, the following taxes will be subsumed: State
Value Added Tax/Sales Tax, Entertainment Tax, Central Sales
Tax, Octroi and Entry tax, Purchase Tax, Luxury tax, and Taxes
on the lottery betting and gambling.
How will GST be beneficial?
The benefits of GST can be summarized as under:

Success Story : "तिनके तिनके बटोर कर, मैंने कारवााँ बना तिया"
Name : Chand Soni
Age : 25
Qualification B Tech
Place : Meerut
Designation-PO in Oriental Bank Of Commerce.
Dear friends,
I belong to a small place Hastinapur which has very limited
facilities. After
completion of
my B-Tech in
2011 I did private
job and struggle
starts from there.
I worked for 13-14
hrs a day and got
very low amount
in salary. I used to
do hard work but
never got satisfaction in pvt sector.
After continuous struggle of 3 years, at last I decided to quit and
go for a PSU. Hence I attempted IBPS and RRB exams in 2014
and couldn't pass even cut offs. Finally, I resigned from my job
(tough decision) and started preparation for Bank jobs
from March 2015.
I left study in 2011 so it was bit difficult to concentrate again on
study but I went through with full energy and dedication. I am
good in mathematics and reasoning but English was not my cup
of tea. So I gave more time to English, read articles and solved
practice sets. For current affairs I regularly followed
bankersadda. I attempted daily quiz and read daily updates.
I gave so many exams but I couldn't clear, but I never thought
that I failed but I had a feeling that I learnt something new (self
belief) and always followed never say die approach. I attempted
a number of speed tests and it helped me a lot.
Exams and their result:
2014:
IBPS PO- couldn't clear cutoffs
RRB PO- couldn't clear cutoffs
2015:
SBI PO- couldn't clear even preliminary exam
LIC ADO- written clear but out from interview
RBI Assistant-150 marks
RRB PO- 120 marks but couldn't make in final list(missed by .75
marks)
RRB Clerk- 119 marks but again out in interview.
IBPS PO- 90 marks and 70 in interview (selected in Oriental Bank
Of Commerce)
IBPS Clerk- 155 marks(selected in PNB)
So finally I tasted the success and I am really very satisfy with
myself!
So guys please have patience, give your best, never lose hope,
do smart work with full dedication and apply yourself.
Sometimes u win, Sometimes u learn.
