IntroductionIn the design, smaller learning clusters and outdoorplay areas were created to capture the nostalgia of avillage concept.The design addresses the long and narrow site bycreating a village square, and injecting along themain spine, event spaces, reading corners andcommunal areas for spill over activities.

Use of colour on the ExteriorA bright yellow horizontal wall assertsthe presence of the school along the roadand to the community with the schoolname on it.A red vertical wall carries the school logoand makes visible the school motto"Light Up and Shine".Main school Entrance

Look Out Point:Provides a view point to thelocal community throughthe eyes of the school

Habitats of the World:The art studios with their exhibition space and theirbrightly coloured walls with indigenous motifs formthe lobby to the amphitheatre.In this way, performing arts and visual arts cooperatewell together.

InteriorUse of a cool colours that bringsabout a sense of peace andtranquility has been implied insideclases.The Maths Corner: is created as aniche for children to enhance theircreativity through mind games andpuzzles, and also self learning hasbeen encouraged through fun andstrategic games

The Vegetable GardenThe courtyard was used tocreate learningopportunities outside theclassroom and forinteraction with nature.

Environmental ConsciousnessThe school accords great importance to outdoor borderless learning,and builds its design around school compound, eco garden and ecopond are tapped on for the conduct of authentic lessons where pupilsconstruct knowledge amidst nature.The pond allows the children views of pond life that are usuallyfound only as textbook illustrations.This pushes global environmental consciousness through practicallearning.

The Global Village ConceptSmaller learning clustersare created to capture thevillage concept.
