Completion:2004 Introduction In the design, smaller learning clusters and outdoor play areas were created to capture the nostalgia of a village concept. The design addresses the long and narrow site by creating a village square, and injecting along the main spine, event spaces, reading corners and communal areas for spill over activities. Site Plan 1st flr plan Sectional Elevations Use of colour on the Exterior A bright yellow horizontal wall asserts the presence of the school along the road and to the community with the school name on it. A red vertical wall carries the school logo and makes visible the school motto "Light Up and Shine". Main school Entrance Look Out Point : Provides a view point to the local community through the eyes of the school Habitats of the World : The art studios with their exhibition space and their brightly coloured walls with indigenous motifs form the lobby to the amphitheatre. In this way, performing arts and visual arts cooperate well together. Interior Use of a cool colours that brings about a sense of peace and tranquility has been implied inside clases. The Maths Corner: is created as a niche for children to enhance their creativity through mind games and puzzles, and also self learning has been encouraged through fun and strategic games The Vegetable Garden The courtyard was used to create learning opportunities outside the classroom and for interaction with nature. Environmental Consciousness The school accords great importance to outdoor borderless learning, and builds its design around school compound, eco garden and eco pond are tapped on for the conduct of authentic lessons where pupils construct knowledge amidst nature. The pond allows the children views of pond life that are usually found only as textbook illustrations. This pushes global environmental consciousness through practical learning. The Global Village Concept Smaller learning clusters are created to capture the village concept.
