What is CourtNet?

• A database that contains informationabout cases filed in Kentucky courts– Info includes parties, date of original filing,

charges, among other things

Who Can Use CourtNet?

• Two “flavors” of CourtNet– KBA Members Only

• Pending cases in all 120 counties

– Any criminal justice professional (attorney and non-attorney alike)

• Closed & Pending Cases in your DPA office’s counties

• This Presentation covers the law enforcement side only – KBA side is not mediated by DPA.

CourtNet Registration

• Law Enforcement Side Registration– A two-pronged process

• (1) Print out a user agreement

– http://dpa.ky.gov/library/2008courtnetuseragreement.pdf sign it, and deliver hardcopy to Will Coy-Geeslin (CourtNet

administrator for the agency)

(2) Then register online at
