When I Look Into Your Holiness

When I look into Your holiness, when I gaze into Your lovelinessWhen all things that surround, become shadows in the light of You.

When I’ve found the joy of reaching Your heartWhen my will becomes enthroned in Your loveWhen all things that surround become shadows in the light of You.

I worship You. I worship You. The reason I live is to worship You (2x)The reason I live is to worship You.

Call to WorshipGather at the mountain of God’s holiness.Today is a day to celebrate God.Gather aware of those you left behind to be here.Today is a day to stand in the gap between God and God’s children.Gather to share God’s presence.Today is a day of transformation for us and for God’s world.

Prayer of InvocationLiving God, at times you seem so distant; help us know you are near. At times we stray; welcome us home. Standing in your presence, we know there are other people we could be with;

help us bridge the gap between your presence and the people we love. We pray in the name of Christ who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

When we have fashioned idols of our own desire or worshiped the temples of our own tradition, Lord, have mercy.

When we have denied your invitation to the banquet of love and justice, or failed to extend the invitation to others, Christ, have mercy.

When we have adorned ourselves with worry rather than joy or failed to be gentle, knowing you are near, Lord, have mercy.

Weekly Announcements

Old Testament: Exodus 32: 1-14

“’Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, how you swore to them by your own self, saying to them, 'I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.'"

Psalter: Psalm 23

God is my shepherd, I shall not want. God makes me lie down in green pastures; and leads me beside still waters;God restores my soul and leads me in right paths for the sake of God's name.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff — they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of God my whole life long.

New Testament: Phillippians 4: 1-9Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

Open My Eyes that I May See

Open my eyes, that I may seeGlimpses of truth Thou hast for me;Place in my hands the wonderful keyThat shall unclasp and set me free.Silently now I wait for Thee,Ready my God, Thy will to see,Open my eyes, illumine me,Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hearVoices of truth Thou sendest clear; And while the wave notes fall on my ear,Everything false will disappear.Silently now I wait for Thee,Ready my God, Thy will to see,Open my ears, illumine me,Spirit divine!

Open my mouth, and let me bear,Gladly the warm truth everywhere;Open my heart and let me prepareLove with Thy children thus to share.Silently now I wait for Thee,Ready my God, Thy will to see,Open my heart, illumine me,Spirit divine!
