School Hours:

8:05am-2:35pm

Lunch: 10:50am-11:20am

Recess: 10:35am-10:50am

Tuesday – P.E. and Music

Wednesday – Music and P.E.

Thursday – Library

Friday – Computer Lab

In the Classroom:

Language Arts 8:05-10:35

Recess/Lunch

Math 11:25-12:45

Social Studies/Science 1:40-2:10

Language Arts 2:10-2:30

LANGUAGE ARTS

Guided Reading

* Comprehension skills with a grade level text

* Teacher directed

Various Types of Reading

Working with Words

* Breaking apart words

* Student creates work

EVERYDAY MATH

• Spiral Program – concepts constantly revisited

• Family Letter – purpose of unit and vocabulary

• Journal Pages – reinforce the lesson

• Home Links – homework, family note located on the top

• Games – essential to the program, reinforce skills learned

HOMEWORK

• Goes home on Monday return on Friday

• Located in zipper bags

• Examples: math home links, books, math facts

• Should not take a lot of time
