Survey Catamaran – Phase 1 Edgetech 4600 Survey Operations: July 10th – August 8th

• Goals:

• Survey as much of the area as possible (~500km2) • Identify/classify targets

• Using small ROV, divers, drop camera, and sonar imagery

• Logistics: • Mobilization – Port of Saint Malo, France • Operations underway

• 24hr surveying • ROV and Diving - during slack tide using 6m RHIB

• Personnel transfers – on 6m RHIB (unless in port) • Up to 7days between port stops for fueling/re-supply (no laundry onboard) • Port of call – Ouistreham • Staterooms are small, 2 - 2 person rooms share a head/shower • Communications on board – some cell coverage – basic email/wifi • August 8th – in Port for equipment change out - Cherbourg

• Goals:

• Map 8-12 wrecks in high detail with Multibeam • Continue to Identify/classify targets

• Using ROV, divers, drop camera, and sonar imagery

• Logistics: • Mobilization – Cherbourg, France • Operations underway

• Daytime operations – return/leave port at high tides • Monitor/film manned submersible operations • ROV and Diving - during slack tide using 6m RHIB • Serve as logistics center and filming platform

• Port of call – Ouistreham • August 22nd – in Port for demob - Cherbourg

preservation and permanent display • Awaiting final permissions, pending archeological and

preservation plans from museum and US Army.
